Phat Fighters Q2
Discussion
Starting a new thread for Q2.
If you want, and hopefully not treading on Vocal Minorities toes (i noticed you dropped off from posting on the original thread VM...) I will keep track for Q2.
1st April to 30th June.
My own aim is to reach 80kg and maintain at that.
As of end of Q1, my starting point for Q2 is 87.5kg.
I'll aim to tabulate weekly.
Get your starting weights in folks...

Cheers. I was wondering if I should start this - glad someone has. I hope VM turns up - we need to figure out the winner and get some cash to charity.
I'm in - 73.3kg starting weight, but carrying a bit of tub and not much muscle.
End of July is a 24 running race, so I have a lot of training and eating to do. My sole focus will be training for that, so it'll be interesting to see how that affects my weight and bodyshape.
I have a view that my "racing" weight is about 68kg and lugging an unwanted 5kg about for 24 hours is no joke, so I'm aiming for sub-70 at least. If I don't seem to shift much in six weeks, I'll have a look at some changes as it's a fine line between fueling and recovering well, and over-eating/using running as an excuse to eat ste.
Oh, and there's a small matter of a half board 10 day holiday coming up, with a buffet. Must. Make. Smart. Choices.

Bonjourno boys
I apologise from my absence of late. To be very honest life became a pit of a PITA and I neglected my weight as emotional eating rather took over....and to compound my total failure in this regard I took to 'looking the other way' from the thread rather than remind myself that I wasn't doing it the right way.
Neither big, nor clever I admit.
Amazingly I am only a little heavier than at my last check in at 13 st 10 lbs.
If everyone has submitted some final results on the other thread I can get totting!

Afternoon, my challenge started yesterday.
After a switch to a desk job followed by swapping a push bike for 600cc's i'm rather heavier/fatter than I was when at my best, 7 years ago. As a result I joined the gym this week and intend to go 4-6 times a week, first PT session tomorrow lunchtime.
Current weigh in stats (after yesterdays work-out) are: (I was at 123.0 kg's later that evening after getting my fluids back on! and 124kg's today) - think 123kg's a fair starting number!
Whilst I think 74.5 kg's is a real push I was happy at 90-95kg's, although lower is always better (was likely above 75kg's at 12/13 years old - I was a very fat child!)
Only limitations I can see for myself this quarter are a 2.5 week holiday from Easter, japan so shouldn't be toooooo bingey, and then a big exam on the first week of June.
If I can get the first 10-15kg's off this quarter I'll be happy, getting below 100 will be a push but a big goal!

Right I'm in, beginning of Jan I was 102, by the end of Jan I got down to 97.6, I then tailed off and got back into old habits so neglected the Q1 thread.
This morning I weighed 99.9, by the beginning of July I want to be 90kg, which I don't think is too tough a goal.
Best of luck everyone.

Cheers Fred and welcome back VM, life does get in the way and st happens but what I try to think is if I go off track too far, things will still be st and compounded by being a fat knacker as well
Starting the 2nd quarter fired up with a starting weight of 14.10 and a goal of 13.7 by the end of June, got the first of four PT sessions booked tomorrow, going to book our first holiday away without the kids, so, aiming to get in the best shape I possibly can be before the start of August, a bit tragic maybe but why not, need a focus, an aim, not to be the pasty fat bloke, just pasty.
Am starting to see abdominal muscles, working harder on the training (the good weather helps) need to get serious with the diet, not doing too bad but gone back to weekend boozing but am happily maintaining between 14 st 8 and 14 st 11, need to start dropping more weight though, still that stone or so off, missus as at her target and has had to eat more to avoid dropping further.
One thing I have noticed is some weird reactions to weight loss, guy in my local, same age as me and we were similar weights, he always starts going on about it when I go in, not properly nasty but can tell its preying on his mind, he is wealthy and can buy what he wants but cant for the life of him manage the discipline required with the one thing he cant just throw cash at, but wants more than anything. My intention isnt to rub his nose in it, he is a top bloke but can tell it bugs the st out of him, doesn't help his missus then gets on at him "why cant you do that", now that is an unpleasant position to be in when out for a drink, have been there, it stings, take that stinging feeling and remember it when lifting, very motivational.
Oh, and strength training, do it, forget hundreds of hours of just cardio, lift some heavy things, and if you do cardio, dotn just sit there fannying with your phone as if you are doing it properly, you shouldn't be able to.

I'm going to jump in this time, read the last thread with interest.
107kgs, 22% body fat (measured by calipers)
I'd like to be at least double figures in KG, on my way to 95. Body fat hopefully will end up mid teens.
I've a couple of short holidays early May which might hamper me but otherwise I'm going for it!

OK then chaps, keep signing up.
For record keeping any weight that get puts in this thread this week will be your starting weight, and I'll assign it against 1st April.
I'll update weekly, but I'm actually on holiday next week so first update will be in about 10 days time, but after that weekly.
Now to work out how to post tables up into this thread - suppose I'll have to sign up to photobucket?

I'm in. 80 kg. Initially aiming for 77 (which would bring my BMI under 30), eventually 65 (lighter than I've been my entire adult life).
I'm doing this all on diet and habit change around food, because I can't physically exercise (powerchair user).
Been going a week, so far so good.
Weigh ins only monthly because I need the community dietician and their special hoist scales as I can't stand.

Count me in please!
I'm 96kg and I'm aiming to be about 85ishkg. I am quite powerfully built (read fat) but I'm not a company director although I do have a nice personality!
I've been weight lifting for over 10 years and hope to progress to the 12kg dumbbells during this competition and reach a life long goal!
Anyway without further ado here's a picture of me from my most flattering angle (i.e. you can't see my face!)

Well seeing as I tailed off at the end of Q1, I've decided drastic action is needed. Joined a gym last week and feeling like I need the extra motivation have signed up to do the local half marathon in 3 weeks, sounds a bit daft but I did a half last year with very little training and this time around I'm more motivated and a little fitter.
I am down to 87.1kg from Q1.

I'm back to using myfitnesspal. She is a cruel mistress. Four custard creams to give me a bit of get up and go yesterday afternoon. 260 cals. Ouch.
I'm on Sparkpeople. It is annoying and American but I know how to use it and so far, so good. Don't think I'll be participating in pics (sooner hide under the bed tbh) but very glad of this thread.
As i noted earlier in the thread, i'll be on easter holiday with the kids next week so won't be able to update score keeping.
but i will do a quick update on saturday evening if anyone who is already in want to post an update, otherwise you'll have to wait until the middle of the week after.

It's horrible isn't it, my diet is very good; home made salad for lunch and 3 eggs scrambled for breakfast (no toast), however my downfall is the work biscuit tin, I love a chocolate digestive or chocolate Hob Nob, 80 odd calories each and 4 of them are very easy to eat.Gassing Station | Health Matters | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
