Teeth Straightening

Hi, for a while now i've considered getting my teeth done, while they're in good condition a couple of them are slightly crooked.Has there been much advancement in technology since the days of braces? As i'm 28 I think i'd feel a bit self-conscious wearing them, is that the price i'd have to pay?

I have seen invisalign, it looks pretty good though expensive.So braces are the best bet, there's no quicker solutions?

First question , when they talk about how you'll need a retainer after treatment presumably to stop your teeth reverting to their previous position.Did you require one of these, if so how visible is it?

Also what's an arch, is it like top set or bottom set?

After doing some more research it seems that outside of conventional braces there is Invisalign,Inman and "6 Month Smile" treatments.Has anyone got first hand knowledge of these?

Invisalign does look pretty impressive, would you agree that it's near invisable and does it affect your voice?
