Had a recent quote for "some work" and the price was worked out over the phone and a week later i recieved the written quote.
However when I enquired about the price and why it was substantially higher than anticipated and asked weather it could be reviewed I was told no, they had already applied a discount, despite the fact it was not mentioned on the telephone.

Im talking a fair whack of money here. Surely in business there is room for negotiation? These days people expect a deal weather it be a car, house or even simple price matching in stores.

Any experiance?

I said I had the quote over the phone. I had had a consultation a couple of days previous with the consultant. The quote was over the phone via his PA

Your poor wife. I hope you manage to resolve it all.

The surgeon I saw is listed as one of the top 100 doctors in the UK and is very highly regarded etc. The hospital is renounded for its first class surgeons.

I guess im a little disapointed they cant/wont move on a price. Basically it was suggested I had a full TT with liop for best results. price coming in at £7.2K the standard TT price is £5,750K On reflection he now says I dont have to have the lipo but im worried now im being "upsold"

I cant believe you cant have a "deal" so to speak

I see what you are saying and have avoided the usual Harley Street Medical, MYA, Transforms etc as i wanted to see a real surgeon not a salesperson.
I wasnt interested in free consults etc and I dont want to travel round the country for a cheap deal. I just dont want to feel like im being held to ransom i spose.

Anyway it may all be rather acedemic as the date i was provisonaly given looks like it has gone after they took a week to write to me! And despite my request for a consult with a surgeon that was available in August he apparently now is not.

Thanks for the advice.

How was your recovery time? Realisticly am i going to be able to drive after 2 weeks?

Surgeon seemed to think given my fitness levels, age, health and reaction to previous surgeries I would recover easily?
