Shakes after training
Discussion
Does anyone else get shakes after training?
A few times lately I've trained, showered etc. and then half an hour or more later shake very badly if I hold a cup etc. Sometimes I can barely fill or drink from a protein blender as the shakes are ridiculous. It really looks like I'm putting it on and if I try to hold on for longer in one position my hand can jump up and down by an inch or more. almost like spasms.
This can last well over an hour.
Not sure why as I often feel fine in myself - recovered and fit - and after a short session could probably manage another workout if I needed to. So I wondered if anyone else experienced this and had any idea why it's happening?
My wife always used to point out that I regularly had the shakes - sometimes fairly noticeable if I held my hands out still, well sort of! - and nag me to go to a doctor but still here, so can't be too serious I guess.

Is this training heavy lifting, or cardio?
I'll sometimes quiver for a while after a particularly heavy session if I haven't eaten much.
This nearly always happens, well to this extent, after high rep, low - or no - rest circuits and esp. shoulder work. The aim of these sessions is to try to deplete as much glycogen out of the cells as possible (and thereby also force the body to release/burn sugars/energy from the liver /fat stores etc.) and develop the lactate/ H ions tolerance and buffering. Similar to what are sometimes described by MMA trainers as metabolic conditioning workouts.I'll sometimes quiver for a while after a particularly heavy session if I haven't eaten much.
Often have little fuel but have eaten like a pig today (delayed Christmas lunch) and should have had loads of stuff on board + the session only laste 18 mins max.
Got something similar in the legs years ago after heavy leg presses, hack squats etc. but that was only to be expected.
