I had my eyes tested some time ago, There was no change to my daily contact lense prescriotion, although they did suggest reading glasses for close work and told me the prescription to get.

Some months later and those glasses have broken and I can't remember the strength.

I called my optician but due to GSPR they can't give me the prescription over the phone, however 5 days later they emailed it to me.
It contained my contact lense prescription and my "spectacles" prescption, with distance and reading variations. .

I replied to the email and reminded them that I needed this info for reading glasses but the reading glasses I had were nothing like the reading presctiption, They replied saying this was my "reading presctiption", but I think they assume I will get two different pairs of glasses to wear without lenses, rather than a pair of reaing glasses to wear with my contact lenses.

Does anyone know if / how I can work out the reading glasses presctiption from the distance / reading spectacles measurements and contacts presctiption or is what I'm asking something completely different and I need to speak to my actual optician who told me the reading glasses strength in the first place?

I thought it was -2.5 but tried those in a shop and they seemed way stronger than the reading glasses I've been using these last few months.

I go on holiday on Thursday night and really need to get something sorted.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I phoned the optician again and explained the situation and they were able to advise me.
