Bottle of wine a night.. every night?
Discussion
For years now I have been a wine drinker. I used to work nights and found the only way i could get off to sleep after a grouling night shift was to have a couple of glasses of the red stuff...
After a while 2 glasses lead to a bottle, and a genuine love for wine. I now no longer work nights and havnt done for about 6 years, but i still consume a bottle of wine each evening. I dont drink to get drunk, every glass is enjoyed, 1st glass normaly starts at 7pm when I am in the office sorting paperwork, then the second whilst cooking dinner, so I am now over half way through the bottle. The last glass is enjoyed after dinner.
So from 7 til about 11pm...
My girlfriend says i need to cap it and have done so, am now only 1 glass a night but feel that one of my daily enjoyments and wind down is gone.
Obviously i know that health risks are high on the list of reasons to cut down but am generally healthy... Gym, running etc....
Does anyone else drink this much or am I bordering alchaholism?????

Well that good news, Im not actually an alky... But defenate dependant...
Have done well for last 2 weeks with just 1 glass, maybe its the habbit of previously having a whole bottle each nite.
Something else someone here said about not feeling ill or any discomfort whilst the damage is being done.. Silent death!!! Not nice thought..
One night a week then from now on..
Thanks for all your input, all helps. Just the smoking to tackle next!!!

Ive got to be honest, I am in and out of peoples homes day in day out and rarley see and empty bottle recycling tub outside, I think seeing this a lot kept me thinking its ok coz if they are doing it, cant be that bad...
Although the last 2 weeks have been a bit of a drag, only because i miss it a bit, but on the upside I have found out that my girlfriend is actually quite interesting!!!
But in all seriousness I do feel better waking up and more alert during the day, getting off to sleep is harder... And I was a big snorrer apparently?? that has stopped too...
As much as I like wine and I mean really like wine, I am defenatley going to keep this up but have only 1 night a week at the weekend where a whole bottle is allowed.
God when you think for the last 12 years at least I have consumed a bottle a night.......

A bottle of wine a night is borderline alcoholism.
There is NO JUSTIFICATION WHATSOEVER for drinking this amount, and before long you'll have a big veiny nose and red face, just like those mendicants
outside the railway station. Then it'll be Tennants Super.(Trampagne!)
Trampagne!!!!! ha ha ha Thats funny.... I wonder if any of the lager manufacturers have the balls to launch that range... There is NO JUSTIFICATION WHATSOEVER for drinking this amount, and before long you'll have a big veiny nose and red face, just like those mendicants

I hate watching those old spunkers outside the doll office swiging on that stuff... I sort of feel that I helped pay for it!! Thats it im not paying any more tax... I feel that this will help these pondlife back to full recovery!! LOL.....

@Redleader1, as you've been sinking a bottle of vino a day for the last 6 years.
Err!
Have you got any recommendations of a nice or favorite Red
+1Err!
Have you got any recommendations of a nice or favorite Red
Some of my favourates and recommended ones:
Berberana Reservas 2007
Leopards Leap, Pinotage Shiraz (very nice)
Smith & Hooper, Hundred of Joanna, Cabernet Sauvignon - Merlot - Shiraz and is one of my favourates
Turning leaf, Cabernet Sauvignon
Wolf Blass, Cabernet Sauvignon, Yellow label, very strong and rich, too much is headache in the morning...
One I would defenatley recommend is Houghton's, The Bandit, Shiraz Temranillo... Fantastic wine..
Penfolds Koonunga Hill, Shiraz Cabernet.
I cant reall recommend many french wines other than a good Chateauneuf Du Pape, always makes a nice change...
Also a few good chianti's....
Any of the above are well worth a try, middle of the range wines....
Enjoy!!

Nobody moans at students who bing drink probably 4 nights out of 7 for 3 years. yet one bottle of wine a night is a lot?
One bottle on one night is not.One bottle every night is.
Its a bloody shame though that all the enjoyable things like foods, wines, sex...ha ha ha can all kill you. Some quicker than others..
