400 vs GT 410 Sport
Discussion
I'd got my heart (not head) set on an Elise Cup 250 or an Exige 350 Sport. I couldn't decide and people in The Lotus Forum kindly suggested that for my usage (daily driver, 80 mile return trip 2x per week, no real prospect of track days) I'd grow tired of those options and that I should consider an Evora.
I've previously had an Elise S and an older NA Evora. Never considered a 400 or any of the newer versions. Budget similar to yours now. So I spotted the Glasgow version and went to trial it. Did some motorway work and some back road work and even in unmolested IPS form, I was impressed.
I now reluctantly admit that I think I've been swayed by heart over head and now need to trim my AT search list!

Congratulations! I picked up my GT410 Sport on Friday - and like you having done many days of you tube/forum research there were slim pickings for what I wanted. But ended up with the red one BAM had for sale.
What a machine (said in Clarksoneque tones). In past 4 years had a 430, 355, 991.2 GTS, Gallardo Performante, 991 GT3 and a McLaren 650s. It has the best bits of these cars - the gearbox of the 355, the noise of the Performante, the steering/pointyness of the GT3 and the (partial) practicality of the GTS. And the looks of all of them.
Have the seat issue - new bushes being sought - but apart from that it's fantastic. And, in my view, looks amazing in red. Small enough to properly enjoy UK roads, can take 2 of the kids out in comfort (the seat behind me is useless re my driving position) but that means school runs are doable, rare and a go-kart with doors.
Enjoy yours!
Was that the car up near Chesterfield? I went to view it then realised it had been sat for a year on sale so didn't offer immediately, was a beautiful car. Am probably going to view another this weekend. Managed a drive in a 430 GT last week, they do go really well, very special cars. What a machine (said in Clarksoneque tones). What is the seat issue you refer to ?
Yes was the car up near Chesterfield. Didn't realise it was there for that long, as only decided a couple of weeks ago I wanted one! To be fair, the car is immaculate and runs perfectly. They also (BAM) gave me a very good part ex price on my 911 and were a pleasure to deal with.
Re the seat, plastic bushes can break and or runners which means there is a little play in the front right (in my case). Apparently down to the seat being quite hollow/lightweight if you get in/out of the car without pushing it back - suspect most people! - it can rock the seat.
I also find the seat too high but there are spacers at the back which I am going to have removed to sit lower at the back and have more thigh support at the front

Yes it was immaculate, I'd have probably bought it myself tbh but went on hols to Scotland in the 570s and forgot to get back to him lol. Interested to see how you get on. I also found the seat a bit high, my head was touching the roof and I wanted to do the odd trackday in it as well with helmet on it would've been a struggle.
