Who else fancies an evora s?
Discussion
Hi. Yes I did. Went from an Elise 111R to one of the last registered Sag's (it was the Capital Bank car that I subsequently sold to Blackiepaul: who put the LS7 engine in it). Great car but I was constantly worrying about it breaking down and my wife hated all the attention that the noise and appearance created. Also I felt it was a licence loser: fast as hell on the A roads but licence losing speed. Also bit too wide on the B roads to feel really confident that I could avoid oncoming traffic and really have some fun at relatively sane speeds!
So back to an Exige S with softtop conversion and 2bular to get some of the noise. The Chrome Orange was my 'attention seeking desire' but still a compromise for the missus.
My sense of things is that the Evora S is the fun, chuckability and confidence of the Exige but with the speed and creature comforts needed for a daily driver: I am hoping that the 'exhaust valve' will really make a difference to the sound when having fun.
Although I am sorted on spec and price I am still in a dilemma on colour: I think I would regret the choice of silver as a compromise is always 'lose/lose! So I am back to white with red leather v COrange (and I cant see any interior colour other than black working: although I am wondering if the factory will do me some orange leather accents) and seeing the picture of myfavedave at the factory just didnt help at all!
I will get there in the next few hours!.

Did you, like me used to own a Sagaris?
If so I reckon the Evora S will be getting close to Lotus's version of the Sagaris. Shouldn't be far off in a straight line and even better round corners. I can't wait to try one.
Pits, those wheels you posted are not the £2k option, its the bigger 20's.. Like this..If so I reckon the Evora S will be getting close to Lotus's version of the Sagaris. Shouldn't be far off in a straight line and even better round corners. I can't wait to try one.
On another note, I previously owned a T350, and very nearly went for a Sagaris, but I couldn't justify double the price for a similar car, at the time.. I will hopefully get one next
My old one, and the one I was going to buy/
all I can suggest is avoid the light coloured interior. Mine has Charcoal interior , however I am currently using one with Paprika interior which has had lots of positive comments. As to
the colour - own car Liquid blue , current car carbon grey . The jury is equally split. You just have to go with your gut feeling . If we all agreed then we all would be driving a slobmobile 4 in a single colour.
PS Visited with Pistonheads today McLaren - MP12C ( 3 times the price of and Evora ) however I have purchased the Euro millions and Uk lottery tickets...... No problem choosing a colour !

I think if you're seriously considering orange you should go for it. you'll always be glad you did. A man who wanted orange is unlikely to be glad he went for silver, perfectly acceptable though it may be. The car does suit white too though. It's a bit annoyingly fashionable at the moment but ever since 'the spy who loved me' white has been a good colour for a lotus.

Yep, nice review. I'd spotted it on the website front page, but it now appears to have been hidden. Presumably it had been web published a week early!I picked up the magzine and apart from the extra pictures there is no more verbage than the website. Still, its an outstanding review, as is the video. Can't wait to see full tests in Evo, Car etc.
Similar review in AutoExpress.
Having test driven the current Evora a few weeks ago after months of pressure from my dealer (who knows how commmitted I am to the Esprit, current and future), I might be tempted if they bring the improvements into the base model from January. It was plenty fast enough for me, but then again........

If the standard Evora is fast enough (which I'm sure it is in the real world) then the new Esprit is likely to be OTT. They are talking a minimum of 550bhp in a similar all up weight to the Evora. It will be uncomfortably rapid.
Given I like manual gearboxes I have no choice but to get an Evora. Which is likely to go down as Lotus's last manual car.

I also owned a Sag, Halcyon Midas Yellow.
I have been struggling to find a replacement that ticks all the boxesand can seat 2 adults and a child.
I have been waiting for the Evora S to come out, think i am going to struggle not to get my hand in my pocket and buy one.........

I'm glad they seem to have ditched the OTT rear diffuser of the initial PR shots. Personally I think they look fantastic, if I had the money I'd love to try one.

Congrats, you beat me to it. What colour and spec did you go for in the end? I'm still waiting for a quote on an off piste colour. Hopefully it will be Indy green like the evora gt4 cup racer. Undecided about the yellow stripes. Might just go for the yellow coachline. Other thought is to go for reflex charcoal to match the Tuscan. I reckon it'd look good enough to eat in that colour but it's likely to be pricey. Went for my wifes preference of Ice white, with red leather and black wheels. Think it will look great. I might still regret the C Orange but I think its a good quality colour option.
Although the metallic green sounds great, and the idea of coachlines rather than full stripes feels like it will be classy. I hope you go for it.
