Evora S Help / Info
Discussion
Hello,
I’ve just come away from Lotus after test driving a Evora S manual year 11 car. I thought the car was very good apart from the sound ( with sport button on) and the almost clumsy gear changes. Now I have been told that you can upgrade the gear linkages etc and also have a cat bypass added to the car to make it a lot better.
So has anyone had these two options done on a year 11 Evora s car and if so, did it make a big difference?
The dealer did have a year 12 car onsite and the sound of this car was a lot better to the one I test drove! Sitting in the car the gear changes felt better also and the interior was a bit nicer.
At the moment I know I can get a very good spec year 11 car un-reg with the two options above done for an excellent price. Or do I wait into next year and try and pick up a year 12 car when they have been out and prices have dropped a bit?!
Prices on the Evora S seem to be all over the place and the brand new cars do seem to lose a lot of money quickly.
Thank you
Phil

I would probably be tempted to hold out for the MY12. I found the difference to be substantial, unless the difference in cost is a lot!
Thank you for your replies.Did you test drive both year models? What aspects did you find substantial to the older version?
Difference in price between them both at the moment would be about 15k i believe.
Thank you

Hello
Thank you again for the replies.
I have been doing a lot of research and its hard to come to a conclusion as it sounds like every car is totally different. I did try 4 Evora's at the weekend that were in the showroom and all seemed different when changing gears.
Im getting that i will save some money on the MY12 cars but its going to be a risk. Maybe waiting for the MY13 cars to come down a bit would be a better option!

My Evora S 2+2 is up for sale at Silverstone Lotus.
Larini exhaust and decat, 2012 gear linkages, drives great!
Carbon Grey and paprika interior
All the packs.
Almost half the price of a new car!
Have a look.
