Hi all,
I’m in the process of buying an Evora 400 (2018, <3k mileage, 1 owner) for £60k. It’s a beauty but…

Given the arrival of the Emira, am I mad to go ahead with the Evora purchase (and expect it to not plummet in value)?

I know this requires a crystal ball but all thoughts - reassuring or otherwise - very welcome!

Thanks

As you say it`s almost impossible to know...but a V6 Emira starts at £75k before options, will be relatively common on the road compared to the Evora, is essentially the same car underneath, and the Evora has the added practicality of the restricted rear seats or storage space.
Yep, that’s what I’m hanging on to and it does make sense. I think the answer is to go for it - enjoy it and treat the residual value as secondary (to a point!)

Thanks for your thoughts…

It's going to be quite a long time until the Emira waiting list disappears so I think Evora prices will stay good for ages.

My 2019 410 sport is going up for sale for very similar money if it's of any interest?
Good point re the Emira waiting list…can’t work out if I want the car to be great, so becomes a future option, or not that impressive and so doesn’t detract from the Evora!

Thanks for calling out your Evora - I’m one of those suckers that is prepared to pay a (slight) premium to buy from a dealer to secure a warranty/after care, so probably not for me but best wishes for the sale.

Just as an update…

The Evora 400 deal fell through, so I bought an Evora GT410 Sport. Wow! Just wow! It’s a truly fabulous car. Probably the best car I’ve driven (including various 911, Ferrari 360, Audi R8 and maybe McLaren 570s).

Congratulations, they are fantastic cars. Check out Harry’s garage review of one if you’ve not already seen it.

Hopefully I’ll be heading into a GT410 Sport at some point as an upgrade to my Sports Racer. I do actually use the back seats as it means we can go out as a family in it and therefore get a bit more use out of the car. Love mine so a GT410 is the natural replacement (assuming I don’t say sod it and get an Exige 410 biggrin)
Ha! I must have watched the Harry’s Garage review a gazillion times before (and since) I bought it. Especially when he revs it out…the V6 ‘howl’ and his response sealed the deal!
