So Redknapp writes like a 2 year old, doesn't know how to send a text message, and can't use a computer, yet seems to be qualified for one of the highest paid jobs in sport. Go figure.

Unfortunately the point most people seem to miss is that club management is a world apart from national team management.

Club - players injured or weakness in team, see board, get money, buy some new players.

National - players injured or weakness in the team, tough, you've got what you've got or go look at the Blue Square teams.

What England needs is a manager with a proven track record of achieving with little resource and no money.

I suspect he was laying it on just a little thickly with all that stuff. Also, I can't recall ever seeing him in those simple old man giggs prior to the trial & wonder how long before their next public appearance?

He isn't going to be collecting his PhD anytime soon, but doesn't need to be that bright given the level of intelligence of those he's trying to guide. Anyhow, if we're definitely going English then he's probably the most acceptable of a somewhat mediocre bunch frown .

Whilst Harry and Martin have that ability go to (seemingly) any club and turn them around.

I take the theory that they do that by playing those players they like. The players that can be moulded slightly. And those that have massive egos will be brought down a peg or three.

So if either men went to the England job and decided they couldn't gel with Ferdinand or Gerrard or Lampard or even Rooney or A N Other ShoeIn (examples!) so didn't play them how would that sit in the media?

Fne if we started to win everything, what if we lost the 1st game?

TO a lesser degree Hodgson has the same problem. Can make little clubs brilliant (and has a wealth of International success too) but couldn't deal with the Egos at somewhere like Liverpool.

He is good but he is not £30 mil plus 6 a year good. Would not pay anything like that for any manager in the history of the sport to come to a national team. So, who now?

edit: Not sure if I believe that. Got a link?

Ok, so reportedly it is a £15 mil 'transfer fee'.

http://www.people.co.uk/sport/football/news/2012/0...

Still far too much money. Move onto the next target in my opinion. Should not have to pay a transfer fee anything like that to appoint the england boss. Hopefully the powers that be at totenham will see that he wants the job and do something decent as a thank you to both him and as a service for their country. That would paint their management of the club in a really good light for everybody except tottenham fans and perhaps some of them will take the same view that it is the right thing to do.

Spurs paid Portsmouth £5m for Harry , Levy is far to shrewd & will screw the FA for as much as he can & rightly so

If they can't afford him , then get someone else

The money the FA have paid to have their managerial choice before, I trust they won't try to get Harry on the cheap. Chelsea failed with Luka, should be no different with Harry...

I find it hard to believe that they will stump up that transfer fee. Especially for somebody 6 years off 70. There will have to be some leeway from tottenham if he is to get his dream for this summer in my opinion. He has already ruled out managing club and country.

Yeah. There'll be someone cheaper I'm sure.
