You do this to yourselves every year.
How many times have we ground out results in past years against lower teams?
How many times have we beaten the big boys in past years
You celebrate when your team scores a goal or is doing well and enjoy the moment as next minute you maybe down again!
Who do you support out of curiosity?
Fantastic result, but still not sure we'll win the title this year. We have proved though that we can beat anyone on our day and without Torres too. Thats now Man U and Chelsea beaten without Torres. I think it best to wait till after boxing day and new years and then see where we are in relation to everyone before any talk of winning it this year.
Whatever happens, it's certainly gonna be alot closer this year though.

You do this to yourselves every year.
And every year ends in disappointment.
Leagues aren't won in October.
Wind your neck in at least until the new year....
While I agree it's way too early to get carried away, there are already many positives to take from the season so far.
- beating Man Utd without Torres and, for most of the game, Gerrard
- beating Everton away from home
- ending Chel$ki's 86 home game unbeaten record (again, without Torres)
- being able to win after conceding first
Our fixtures haven't been easy either; Man United and Chelsea, away to Everton, Aston Villa and Manchester City (both Villa and City looking to break into the 'top 4').
I'm not getting carried away, but I'm more than happy with our start so far![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

Great result, and indicative of how we have been performing this season. Resilient, and never giving up.
We need to beat Pompey convincingly on Wednesday though, and keep these performances going one game at a time. I'll only start to get really excited if we're still in contention come March.
Got to say I've been very impressed with how Riera has settled in, he looks very good indeed.

You're right, I've been supporting Liverpool for 28 years, and every year I say the same. Before the season starts. This year is different.

there is still a lot of football to play so how anyone can say that is beyond ridiculous

If I was a Liverpool fan, it would be the games against the smaller teams I'd be worried about. The win against Man Utd was followed by a draw against Stoke, for example.- beating Man Utd without Torres and, for most of the game, Gerrard

So far so good....
This year is different. Normally we are 10 points behind Chelski and Manure, this year actually ahead, in terms of Utd perhaps 15/20 where we normally are against them.
We are winning, but not playing that well to be honest, a long way from top form. Perhaps the best workers in the top four if not the greatest numbers of match winners. As a previous poster has said, difficult fixtures to be honest and the only game we had a bad result was Stoke at home but did create enough chances to win several games. Chumps league is looking fine too so hopefully be able to rest a couple of the stars for the last couple of games, rather than work everybody to the bone just to qualify. Rafa is no longer tinkering!
Chelski did really miss Drogba and J Cole yesterday but they should be able to cope without them more than we should without Torres so its horses for courses.
Both Manure and Chelski will come back strong but for once we are not playing catch up and have beaten them. We have won nothing yet but this year is different for the reasons above.
We tend to have a good second have of the season and in fact even before yesterdays result we have outscored any team in terms of points (not goals) in the last 12 months.
So, fingers crossed and with a fair wind etc etc etc
