Can't blame ETH for going for it in the last 10 mins, but we've been terrible.

Rashford was definitely given a shove but didn’t make anything of it for some reason??

We've been getting worse and worse over the past few games, not looking forward to the next games, wheels really falling off now....

The amount of games the same players have played is mental. ETH doesn’t have the squad to compete on all levels at the moment. It’s going to happen come the end of the season.

Just hope we can hang onto top 4

I was hoping we’d be really up for it today-this doesn’t bode well for the games we have coming …

Really poor to watch this. Think it says a lot about the quality (or lack of) of the Prem this year that both Utd and Spurs are in the top 4.
Spurs aren't in the top 4 now.

I must watch the wrong Man Utd games. I keep hearing about the level of improvement, but they've been poor again.

Man Utd are now only 3 points better off than at the same amount of games last season. The goal difference is also 6 worse. 3 less goals scored and 3 more conceded.

Hasn’t it already been established that you do indeed watch different games to the rest of us?

Away from vs top 9 teams;

Played 6
Lost 6
Conceded 25

Clearly a flaw in how we approach away games vs good teams

Christ, this is a painful read, it’s like then Scouse thread. We’re a pretty poor squad, that is months into a major rebuild. The progress we’ve made has been astonishing, but it’s never going to be an easy route back to being successful. Today has been crap, but overall we’ve had a strong season.

We’re knackered and it’s showing. So far we’ve played every match possible this season, that will take its toll.

Stop whingeing like scousers.

Exactly. If you can’t tell the improvement compared to last season then you clearly haven’t a clue about football

I can only judge in the games I watch. The stats don't highlight much improvement either. It's also been quite a weak PL season this year too.

Are you telling me you are happy with what you watched today?

Does your view that it has been “astonishing” progress mean players and management are immune to criticism?

Astonishing or not, starting a player like McTominay as your number 10 is always rightly going to draw comments. That’s a bizarre decision, and one that was shown up to be completely incorrect.

It would be strange for people to not be allowed to comment on things like this due to the general astonishment at what else has gone before.

It’s not criticism, it’s just doom and gloom end of the world stuff. We were poor, the team choice wasn’t great, but that’s how’s up how poor our squad is, rather than anything else. McTominay has never been good enough, international goals mean nothing when it comes to the PL, as per my comments earlier this week. Wout isn’t anywhere near good enough. Both will try their hardest and put in a good shift, but they aren’t good enough. we’re massively reliant on Rashford and asking too much of him at the moment. A well organised team will show us up, but our tactics today were poor. That doesn’t detract from a hugely positive season IMO. There will be hiccups amd big fk ups along the way. It’s how we react against Brentford in midweek that matters now.

Credit where it’s due, it’s hard to disagree with most of what you’ve said.

But I do think a worrying pattern is emerging when it comes to (a) consistently terrible results away vs top half teams and (b) massive drop off of form past few weeks.

We’ve gone from supposedly being in a title race (ok most of us knew what was nonsense and of course way beyond where we thought we’d be this season - but points wise we were 1 off city and right up there) to being 22 points off the top in just a few weeks.

2 home games best which is hopefully some relief - Brentford mid week and Everton Saturday. Two wins would be lovely…

Anytime someone posts something you don't like you get all personal.

There was no reason to get upset with my post.
