So if we're all in agreement that BR seems to be on borrowed time, who does he be replaced by.
Seems there could be two candidates, Rafa and Klopp.
Rafa I fear we'd just be swapping BR's negatives for Rafa's negatives and we'd all be frustrated by different unique characteristics, all whilst enjoying some interesting and turbulent cup runs.
Klopp, seems like a great manager, but at the same time is doing worse than BR this season.

As much as I hate the way we're playing, I respect him for taking responsibility, and genuinely hope he stays until the end of the season.
The focus is all wrong, it is not our defence, it isn't even Balotelli (massively unjust scapegoat imo), it is our midfield poncing about with the ball and not moving forward with pace and purpose.
BR has to take responsibility for that, let’s hope he sorts it out.
Our midfield has no-one to pass to and is terrified of losing it as our keystone cops defence cant defend so safest play is to keep it in the middle - the main priority is the defence first then build on it - thing is we have signed every second rate or todays hero defender there is, so much so we sold a few and loaned a few - we are clueless in setting up a defence and the rot started before Bren however he has amazingly made it worse. Wednesday I think we will win maybe 0-1 or 1-2 and paper over the cracks for a week or so
I would hate to play up front for LFC at the moment, scapegoat position for sure.
There was a point when we were 3-1 down, and just knocking it about as if we were cruising to victory! I wanted to punch the TV

I really cant see how you wont give Brenton the full season, despite him being a bit of tt and some very suspect signings he should have enough good will in the bank from last season to be given this one to work it out.

If he was to go only 1 person for me to replace him
diego simeone - question is whether we could get him ? surely we can pay him a lot more than he is on at Athletico ?
Rafa - not for me - to many people forgetting the bad things with him - if we bring up watches with BR you cant forget the problems with him.
Klopp - Replacing our manager for having a bad season with a guy who is bottom of the German league does not fill me with confidence. Has to be something majorly wrong with him to have a team bottom of the German league?

I am not sure going back for Rafa is a good idea. Whilst on paper he would seem a good choice, I think Dalglish showed that going back to where you were once king is never a good thing. It will not only taint his legacy and he has had his time. Rafa is also very single-minded: it is his way or the highway. One thing Rafa did do is spot reasonably good talent, Suarez apart, we haven't really seen the likes of Alonso, Mascherano, Torres and Reina at the club since (sure, he has had his fair share of duds too but the ratio is better than BR's for sure). He is also very good at taking a relatively average team and making them over-perform especially in Europe. I wouldn't mind seeing Rafa back but I am not sure it would really take Liverpool forward. It's a shame Moyes just signed up overseas and is not available.
I think BR is fast reaching a crossroads. He either continues as is and it 'clicks', or he needs to bite the bullet and get in some decent support , particularly around defence.
If he achieves neither of these and we're languishing come end of January then FSG may well be considering their options by then.
If he stays through January and no dramatic improvement to end of season, definitely gone I expect.
Even though I would rather he stayed and progressed the team and gave us the stability a long term manager brings, he has to show he is as aware of his own limitations and can address them. A good manager doesn't do everything themselves, but they do get good people in to do it for them.
None of this is helped with Sturridge out all bloody season mind. A few extra goals, a bit of confidence and it could all be very different.

For every King Kenny there is a Mourinho...

Really? Think back to how many £2-10m players Rafa bought and how many were so very average. Easily as average, if not more than the likes of Borini and Allen. I also can't think of one player he brought through from youth.jammy_basturd said:

Full list here. Interesting reading, forgot about some of them. £229m in 5 years. Rodgers has managed to spunk £120m in 3 months!http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-...
Still, as I mentioned, don't think Rafa is a the right choice. Probably more of an emotional choice with some fans.

come on that is a silly comparison, Rafa didn't get a £85m windfall in year 2, BR won't get a similar amount to spend ever again even if he stays, and you state 3 months even though he has been here in 2 years!Still, as I mentioned, don't think Rafa is a the right choice. agree Rafa not the right choice - he irritated the hell out of me at the end of his reign

Well that didn't work!
Imagine the boardroom meeting at FSG today, they will be shell shocked as a new manager wasn't even on the radar - Bren only got his new deal less than 6 months ago.
Bren has been very clever installing a incompetent ghost as his number 2 as they cant sack him until they have a strong manager to come in or get a temp manager and if we are getting a temp manager in (and I accept the cry of dinosaur) get Phil Thommo to finish the season until the get Diego Simeone in (the ONLY choice IMHO)
nb - remember the LFC sports psyche bloke who was bigged up before the world cup as the reason LFC had a winning mentality - is he dead ?
