Diego Simeone in (the ONLY choice IMHO)
Agreed - as per my post aboveLondon424 said:
Not only that... Liverpool Echo said:
Those inside Anfield for the defeat to Chelsea can attest to Mignolet's bizarre pass out of play right on the final whistle. It would have gifted the visitors a corner from absolutely no danger at all.
Rodgers got rid of Reina for this bag of sh!te? He really hasn't got a clue.ascayman said:
At the risk of upsetting the natives why on earth someone take the Liverpool job?
Your absolutely right, what pull do we have left these days for an established achiever - no marquee players as such, (note that as we have had at least one marquee player in the team (Torres, Alonso, Masc, Luis) - budget spent (we aint getting another £100m) - Simeone is a pipe dream, the reality is a failed manager looking to rebuild (Klopp) or a young up and coming guy (?) or an old Dino like Thommo who personally I would love to take over right now today and organise the bloody defence.IF BR was to be sacked before the end of the season I'd accept Rafa as a caretaker manager - not sure he'd accept that though. At least the one thing he was good at was organisation and defence, two things we badly need now.
Yep noticed and its the only option long term, we will need a short termer to finish the season thoughAt the risk of upsetting the natives why on earth someone take the Liverpool job? I was about to pose the same question. Why exactly would Diego Simeone move to LFC from Madrid?! I can't imagine money alone would be enough to motivate him.

So the chances are, we get rid of BR and in return we probably won't get a manager that will do any better. But we probably will get someone who will want a season of transition, sell half our players and bring in a load of players who'll go through FSG's transfer committee, so probably won't be too great either...
Thinking about it, if I was FSG/Ayre, I'd be thinking about forcing some backroom changes on BR rather than sacking him tbh.

If this is being discussed I will know about it, personally I think its not the right move but our options are limited. I want to see FSG over here telling Bren to get Paco / someone in to help him and replace his entire back room team of tossersjammy_basturd said:

I'd agree - problem will be that anything like that and the press will seize on it and generate "Rodgers being undermined/Rodgers not in charge" stories... Still, that would still be my option.Thinking about it, if I was FSG/Ayre, I'd be thinking about forcing some backroom changes on BR rather than sacking him tbh.

Also you'd have to argue that the league is harder/more competitive now than when Rafa was in charge.
If BR does go, here's a suggestion for who takes over.
Quality manager, decent bloke, plays attractive football, well grounded in English football and (I think) would be popular with the fans. Only issue would be is that he's currently manager across the other side of Stanley Park.
Roberto Martinez.

No thanks, if we do get rid of BR we will go for someone who has won something. This article starts a bit wafty, but I think it perfectly sums up what we've talked about in here over the last few pages: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/li...

Good article. I especially agree with:"Rodgers’ vulnerability is many of these issues were raised when Liverpool were winning, and a culture of negligence, possibly even arrogance, has set in across the whole club where nothing has been done to address glaring inadequacies."
We all observed that Mignolet was vunerable last season, we all said that Skrtel was vunerable at holding onto shirts and just vunerable in general, we all said Johnson had quickly deteriorated as a right back, we all said Gerrard was not suited at all to that holding role. Yet, what has he done to change any of that this season? You do not need a transfer committee to make those decisions!

A game, would be a start. To be fair though, Sye, his managerial career has been with Swansea, Wigan and Everton so hardly clubs that are going to be trophy collecting every season.
Yet in his time, he won League One with the Swans and the FA Cup with Wigan. He took Everton to a new level last year and will do so again once all the injuries are healed. Okay, he's not pocketed many cups but he plays football the right way, a plus for Liverpool fans, and he comes with little or no baggage.

One thing to note, mentioned in the article is
Dismissing Rodgers would also be expensive, and Liverpool – still awaiting a UEFA verdict on their FFP status – cannot afford another hefty round of ‘termination payments’ in their next accounts.
We got looked at by FFP for these reasons with Kenny and the backroom staff.
