Excellent win, particularly as it was the away derby and for long periods we looked clumsy. One game closer to Coutinho coming back and who knows, maybe Sturridge will manage to get a few games.

That tackle on Henderson though, really shocking.

Great that we managed to get the points despite being pretty poor for the first half/ not looking like we would get something in the end. It's games like this that we need to win to keep the pressure up at the top. Well done on Mane being alert to get onto the rebound.

I guess this means the WUMs will have "forgotten" to watch the new thread and so won't be posting (for now)...

A few players had off days & the ref let them wrestle us a bit, but we still dug out a win. And against the bluenoses.

A few posts being backspaced after the goal I imagine laugh

Great stuff

Great tactics from Everton.

Run around until exhausted. Then niggle and foul as the game passes you by.

We need to get scrappy points to get top 4 - all the top teams have jammy games sometimes. I'll take that one.

Mignolet returns, 2 clean sheets. To be fair, he had zero to do in this game - can't even think of a save he had to make and likewise against Boro.

He has looked assured.

That was a savage challenge by Barkley, didn't look obvious until the replay and a different angle, so you can't blame
the ref for only booking him.
And such are the rules that it cannot be upgraded to a red card as the referee is deemed to have dealt with it. Far worse than Vardy's off-balance challenge on Saturday...

We should lock the thread during games to save some people from themselves.

Knew we'd score, just knew it.

Sister in law gave birth to a beautiful baby boy this evening in Liverpool. Husband is a blue. They haven't decided on a name yet. I've suggested Sadio.

Another brandy anyone? YES!!!!!

Not to put a downer on today's great result but looking forward, Chelsea play both their next two games a day before us and both are at home to relatively easy opposition - Bournemouth and Stoke! We'll constantly be playing catch up...

Ragnar Klavan's game by numbers vs. Everton:

100% tackles won
88% pass accuracy
7 clearances
3 interceptions
1 block

Becoming a bit of a cult hero.
