A cracking read, courtesy of Phill Sumbler at planetswans http://www.planetswans.co.uk/Article.aspx?ArticleI... I remember exchanging e-mails with him in those dark Tony Petty days, IIRC Petty was crapping himself so much he only wanted to let season ticket holders in to the old south stand.

^^ good stuff that. The mrs is swans trust member number three hundred and something, it's what got us the tickets before going on general sale. I used to love going to the Vetch and grabbing a pint in the Jack before the game, more so than the new place if I'm being honest.
The Vetch was a shocking ground....but what an atmosphere, what character, fantastic times.Anyone want to recall their favorite Vetch moment?
Getting very very nervous about Monday now. The press keep bigging us up - I prefer bring underdog!

Everyone is looking forward to it. I've been to the old Wembley, but not the new one. I've always wanted to experience it, so what better way to do it than actually play there.
There are quite a few experienced boys in the squad if the youngsters need any advice beforehand, but they've played in plenty of big games themselves this season so I don't foresee any problems.'
The squad will take time out in the team hotel on Saturday night to watch the Champions League final between Manchester United and Barcelona at Wembley, especially with the Spanish influence within the Swans camp. There are quite a few experienced boys in the squad if the youngsters need any advice beforehand, but they've played in plenty of big games themselves this season so I don't foresee any problems.'

What an incredible player he was at his peak. Amazing to think he only started playing football professionally at 24. Top lad as well.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5HcLUuh6H8
My favorite Vetch moment was a last minute penalty by Jan Molby in 1995/6 season. We eventually went down but that win gave us hope.
He was player manager at the time and the pressure was immense. So in the 94th minute he steps up and showed his pedigree. The place went mental.
More Trundle brilliance:

Note a lot of the footage is in the lower leagues - great to see Tate and Britton there!
Last piece is 'that' goal at the Millenium Stadium. What a talent.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of footy live but very few players I've seen pull off that kind of stuff on a regular basis. I mean, don't get me wrong he was no Messi, but at his level in L1 he may as well have been, the ball was glued to his feet and the opposition couldn't get near him.
He was also a tad selfish and when he was not firing, the Swans were not winning. Would be great to see how he (at his peak) would fit in today in our passing system - he should never have left really but fair play for wanting a shot at the Championship.
