I know Spurs fans get frustrated by the lack of activity, but it must be more frustrating watching your team spend hundreds of millions only to finish 6th in the league.
As much as I don't think Dier is up with the best players in our squad, the ability for him to move from CB-DM-CM depending on what's needed is hugely important and frees up other players to take on other roles. I'd be less adverse to selling if he wanted to go back to Portugal, but we shouldn't strengthen our rivals.

Which is exactly why we won't get him.As much as I don't think Dier is up with the best players in our squad, the ability for him to move from CB-DM-CM depending on what's needed is hugely important and frees up other players to take on other roles. The top 6 clubs rarely sell to each other now. The last 'big' player that I can think of who went to a top 6 rival was Van Persie. Whilst Dier's not in that league my point still stands. 'Big' players do swap teams, Lukaku, Kante etc but they are not coming from Top 6 clubs.

You've just signed Lukaku, surely Everton are one of your rivals? The top 6 clubs rarely sell to each other now. The last 'big' player that I can think of who went to a top 6 rival was Van Persie. For a club about to play all of its home matches at what is their bogey ground I'd be showing a little more humilty around about now Mr K. Your last 2 matches there against any English team yielded 9 goals, for the opposition.
