Perfectly on form, Aberdeen are showing no form. Must be frustrating to manage. For good part they looked half decent against away to Burnley in the Euro qualifiers
To be fair, the Dons were down to 10 men after 5 minutes or so. Never easy from then on.

As one sided as Celtic and Rangers has ever been. Rangers have offered absolutely nothing apart from putting the boot in. Constant long balls to nobody.

Celtic have hardly had to made a challenge. Two bookings when one was a dive and the second Edouard was fouled.

McGregor should be off for his kick. Why does he keep doing things like that?

Lafferty has just fouled and kicked everything. His studs into Lustig could have also been a red and should have already been booked for perisitent fouling.

If Celtic score and Rangers have to open up this could be a thumping. It doesn't look as if Rangers players even believe they are good enough to make this a game.

The hype prior to this match appears to be just that.

I've seen someone on Twitter mention this is The rangers worst start to a season. Don't know how true that Is, but 1 point from last 6, less than a 50% win ratio for all games this season.

Long may this progress continue. :-)

Rangers and Gerrard won't get any credit for those tactics or performance. They just tried to kill the game. A booking for time wasting a few minutes into the second half.

The worst thing was even packing the defence they were still riding their luck. The woodwork, bad misses and McGregor(who should have been off) stopped the score being another 5 goals for Celtic.

After watching a couple of Rangers games recently I really don't see the progress. I don't remember ever watching a more negative performance in a Celtic v Rangers game

Rangers set their stall out not to get humped. Set up and tactics straight out the walter smith big book of coaching. Poor game, what I saw of it.

Hearts keep winning, Ayr Utd's bubble well and truly burst yesterday.

Strange from Rangers, I really thought they had the momentum going into this game and would give it a go.

Based on that, they won't be challenging Celtic for the title this season.

Gerrard using excuses already, never mentioned the 4 times hitting the woodwork, still miles ahead of them!

The excuses and blame game started after their 1-1 with Aberdeen. New manager, same old Sevco.

Just seen Gerrard's interview. He's fast going down in my book with his whinging and victim mentality. His complaints were unacceptable against Aberdeen and they are again today. He does seem to miss things that don't suit him.

It wasn't "definitely" a foul. Jack jumped into Rogic and then lost his footing. Although Rogic's leg was near Jack there wasn't any contact.

He's got an absolute cheek talking about how the ref cost them when they should have been down to 9 men in the first half.

The pressure is getting the better of him already.

What a ste advert for Scottish football that was - it's no wonder there's no money in the Scottish game when it comes to things like tv rights.

The SPL is certainly not the self professed greatest league in Europe. I’m surprised people are surpised by this. Mercifully I only get to see Match of the Day and it’s 5-10 minute highlight reels of EPL matches otherwise I’m sure I’d see a tonne of dross there too.

It wasn't a good game purely down to Rangers tactics. Games when a team sit deep and offer nothing always end up a tough watch.

However let's not pretend that the big money English league is a joy to watch either. The team that was good enough to finish second last year played the dullest football going.

Only a few teams in their league are worth watching.

In hindsight, it was always going to be a tough match for Rangers. In the end it was only settled by the odd goal but certainly could’ve been a lot more.

Why in hindsight was it a tough ask? Celtic had a relatively easy Thursday evening with a 3-0 home victory, but Gers had a backs-to-the-wall slog more than 2000 miles east of here that finished with 9 men defending. There’s still an advantage for Celtic in terms of the confidence and experience in the big games despite the troubles behind the scenes, even if the preparation and recovery for the teams had been equal.

I don’t think Rangers were ever going to implement a high pressing high tempo tactics to make an exciting game.

Is it perhaps disappointing that the game occurred on the Sunday after 2 hugely important games for both teams just 60 or so hours earlier? Did the scheduling by the SFA allow us to show Scottish football’s jewel in the crown in the best light? Perhaps not. I do note that the Norwegian FA gave Rosenborg some free weekends to prepare for Celtic in the UCL qualis, for example.

Mon the Hearts! wink

I take it with the "Mon the Hearts" you've written off your own team rangers after the worst league start in nearly 30 years?

Rangers had the energy to do more. After Celtic scored they lifted their game. It's the tactics that were all wrong. Rangers played like the small teams do. Absolutely no intent to make it a game, just pack the box and hope for the best.

A complete new management team and 14 or 15 new players and they are all still scared of Celtic?

The scoreline of 1-0 just papers over the cracks for the people in denial. I can see Rangers confidence being hit badly now. They were utterly outclassed and also lucky to get a point of Motherwell last week.
