Overall, apart from Chelsea winning, this weekend's results worked out rather well. A point clear of 3rd and with a better goal difference than anyone chasing. Good times. smile

Its wins like that that win titles... Looking good. 11-2 this morning that's a good bet.

Regardless of Mignolet making any saves or not the defence looks much more assured with him in goal.

Thought we were poor in midfield really and Origi had minimal impact. Maybe Sturridge has done enough to earn a start or possibly a good 30 mins next game. Firmino was unlucky not to make it 2 but he should have scored when played through by Milner.

The huge result for me is winning when we're not playing anywhere near the level we can play. Another game closer to Coutinho coming back and the January window. Mane being away for a month is what worries me. Season defining right there I think unless we have a plan.

Apart from the goal Sadio didn't have a great game, yes he stepped up when it mattered but they just bullied him off the ball last night. We will miss him but Couthinio will be back to firm things up and keep us on the front foot. Hendo may find his fight again

Klavan and Lovren seems to be a good partnership, cant imagine its easy keeping Lucaku quiet!
Sturridge looked up for it, for me its nice to have him and Origi as striking options, both great players!

A few players had off days & the ref let them wrestle us a bit, but we still dug out a win. And against the bluenoses.

A few posts being backspaced after the goal I imagine laugh

Great stuff
We should lock the thread during games to save some people from themselves.

Knew we'd score, just knew it.

Sister in law gave birth to a beautiful baby boy this evening in Liverpool. Husband is a blue. They haven't decided on a name yet. I've suggested Sadio.

Another brandy anyone? YES!!!!!
Not really - we played poorly for the first half, and in the second half we were relatively poor compared to how we can play. The result is important, but it could easily have been a repeat of a couple of games ago. Just look at the number of times we passed to an Everton player/ into nowhere for example. However most commenting also know it will take time to continue to improve the team and we can't play our best all the time, it's just get a bit frustrated when we might lose points. Great to get the result, but if not for a "lucky" rebound (which in a way was not as we would have probably scored either side it bounced from our player's positions) then it would have been a bit frustrating.

I don't think we played that badly yesterday, when you put it into context that Everton haven't lost at home all season until last night.

We can certainly play better but we weren't bad, especially in the 2nd half. I though Henderson was good, along with the centre backs, Milner, Gigi and Lallana.

Looking at the league games Mane could miss in Jan, he could potentially just miss 2 games, if Senegal get knocked out in the QF's, he could be back for the home game against Chelsea. Even if they do make the final he would miss just a further 2 more.

Saw none of last nights game, and today not too arsed about watching it now either. Three points in the bag being the main thing.

Paul Joyce says we're looking at Draxler for January. Fee is supposed to be around £30m, PSG also interested.

Absolutely, though I'm not sure we'd spend £30m on Draxler and then a similar amount on Pulisic in the summer - and it's clear FSG want Pulisic!
