I know stats are misleading but I think its mindful to note that while this season has been a disaster ETH is still has the highest win % of recent managers.

I think what is different with ETH is that we very rarely draw games. We either win the game, or lose trying to win (Fulham) for example. Only 6 draws last season and 2 so far this season.

Yes I saw another of these which was based on first 64 league games, and again confirm he has the highest win %. But also the highest loss %, most goals conceded and least goals for.

I guess it shows how stats can be used either way! Those for and those against ETH can both use the same data to make their point.

Such a shame how the wheels fell off under Ole. 2nd and 3rd, then complete meltdown. Am I remembering correctly we came 2nd and 3rd and then added Varane/Ronaldo/Sancho to the squad? Such high hopes at the time....

Yeah its either win or lose with ETH.

I think the wheels came off when they brought Ronaldo back to the club. You could see why they did it, but he really upset the dressing room and caused more problems than he solved.

I do wonder given what Pep wants from his players and the way they play, where City really going to sign him?

I think another reason for optimism under "new owners" is it's just not the kind of signing I can imagine Ratcliffe allowing. He was apparently very critical of the Casemiro deal too;

"Ratcliffe suggested the choice of the players signed by United in the past few seasons had not always been the most prudent. As an example he pointed to Casemiro’s purchase for €60m the previous August from Real Madrid. The midfielder was 30 years old and was given a four-year contract of about £350,000 a week."

So I do think we will genuinely see a complete change of transfer strategy, for the better. fingers crossed!

That is complete hindsight from Ratcliffe.

Honestly, stop being such a fking weirdo.

I've already asked you to ignore me.
He's correct though, you and your best pal have ruined what was a good club discussion thread with your relentless and very embarrassing moaning/whinging and criticising.
Hats off to you both for how much effort you put into it all.

Boo hoo, I’m sorry you’re so upset. Do feel free to ignore too (instead of, somewhat ironically, moaning about it)

In the pre match press conference for City I think ETH said that a couple can be expected back for sure after the international break, which would be after the tie sadly. It seemed like Hojlund was only a few weeks supposedly, so he might be and possibly Maguire, pretty sure not the rest unfortunately. Evans and Rashford are expected to be fit again too after being taken off yesterday. Shaw and Martinez were described as a couple of months when their injuries happened (so Martinez possibly by mid April), AWB and Malacia no idea, they seem to have disappeared.

Liverpool are pretty messed up by injuries too, so at least it's fair in that sense.

Interesting Mount wasn't on the list you made, I'd almost forgotten about him by now. What has happened there?

Hojlund is only meant to be 2-3 weeks so hopefully back firing soon.

Maguire sounded like it was short term so hopefully back soon too.

The others are all long ones unfortunately. Shaw sounded like he’s done for the season, Martinez they won’t rush back, Malacia has been out so long with 2 knee ops it’s hard to imagine him rushing back any time soon. AWB apparently was almost back but got reinjured in training so who knows on that one.

Shows how much we are missing Mount that you forgot him from your list smile

Edit oops snap, same point made on Mount as I typed a reply!

I'd just assumed that Mount was out for the rest of the season.

Mount was a ridiculous signing. I still have no idea what the question was if Mount was the answer. There’s no hindsight in that either I was totally opposed to signing him when it was first suggested.

Liverpool are messed up with injuries, but look how they cope. In come squad or even debutant youth players and they all know their roles perfectly within the system. They know what to do, what’s expected, where to be and what they should be looking to do both on and off the ball. Our players just stand around looking at each other like it’s a cold morning on the training pitch.

Agreed. The negativity and entitlement are a joke.
I've loved United for 40+ years and always will, but generally can't be bothered with this thread.

It’s surreal reading comments like this. United were a dominant force in English and to some extent European football for over two decades. That ended over a decade ago and now we’re the Liverpool team that we mocked mercilessly from the mid 90s until very recently. What we should all now do though is not have an opinion other to jump up and down cheering a side that just continues to go backwards?

Guys, I'd like to apologise for clogging up the thread with negative posts.

My view on United IS negative, but there's literally no need to keep reiterating that every day. Doing so offers no benefit to anyone.

I also apologise for my catty responses to and31, 200plus and in particular Gone a Bit AMG who is a nice enough bloke that he previously offered me a ticket to a game. My genuine and sincere apologies for being rude.

I will think twice before posting anything in here in future, and ensure that it's not just repeating the same old st. Cheers guys.
