The team I support LFC are today linked with a move for Jordan Henderson, they say 13m has been rejected as you want 20m, just how good is the lad? good enough to get us back in the top four? good enough to eventually replace Gerrard? or a very over priced English player?

Its premier league valuations as a whole, spend 20m on a player from Spain, Holland etc you get one hell of a good player, 20m here and its someone who ''might'' make it.

Comelli & kenny are a pretty good judge of a player & if they are prepared to spend that kind of money on a young player then i would welcome the signing , i'd rather have a strong British backbone to my team than i would a team of foreigners who are not that bothered about who they are playing for . he has played for England i believe

If my team didn't have so many riches of talent in midfield , this would be the kind of signing i would welcome

I went to school with him, year below, we often sneaked him into our team during must win matches and cup finals, also played against him when my old team drew Sunderland reserves in the cup, he has progressed well but maintained what he was always good at, possession and creativity, he will always find a Sunderland shirt even in difficult situations and with this he creates a lot of attacking moves, they aren't flamboyant step overs taking on two players, but it will be a well timed or directed pass, he is no Gerrard but certainly wouldn't look out of place training and playing in a top team!

Henderson playing for Liverpool, or a top team? He would fit in well as he's turned into a whinging gobste who gets involved in things on the pitch that don't concern him and has far too much to say to refs
£13 millionhehe £20 million jester

About time this thread got bumped.

No one can complain about the quality signings made in the past few weeks and in particular today.
Wes Brown and O'Shea are quality additions to the squad.

Wickham is an exciting player by all accounts. Didn't realise he was so big.

Larsson is the big one for me. Great player and if Vaughan comes too, I think we'll have a team that might just make me wet my pants. Even Talkste are singing our praises.

Good to also see Pop Robson joining as a scout.

Ha'way the lads indeed.

Thought Malbranque was being sold? That new Frenchman Tounkara(?) any good? Working late shift this week, I dont know why but that somehow means I end up a week out of date with sporting news!

Managed to watch the match yesterday in an Irish bar in Majorca smile

First half could easily have seen us out of the running but we defended well (kudos to Ferdinand and Brown) and had a bit of luck too. Second half was completely different though, once Larson grabbed that superb equaliser, Liverpool looked somewhat shakey and we exploited their inexperienced right back on a few occasions.

Brown was the star man for me, with Sess second. Brown was calm as you like, handled Carrol well and used his head. Sess is just classy.

Overall a good performance after half time, a poor one before it. Pleased that we finally have the much needed set piece specialist in Seb.

Being the only Sunderland fans in the bar was interesting too hehe

Guessing your travels this time aren't work then? I watched it on the iPad via streaming in my local pub, and I think you're spot-on with your synopsis. Unfortunately the MOTD highlights yet again failed miserably to portray the match in any sort of realistic way - the editor is a smoggy, and you can tell.

Roll on the next game and 3 more points - although like you today I'll be watching it in a bar in the sunshine...

Nope, holiday for me this time, much needed one too!

Ah, my Dad managed to catch MOTD and mentioned that the highlights were all Liverpool although Hansen mentioned we deserved our point. Had no idea the editor was a smoggy, the prick!

Looking forward to the Derby, Howay (shields born it's how I say it!) Sunderland!
