You can't impose discipline in the media. What does he want to achieve - isolating the payers with a view to moving them on or motivating them to do better? He won't achieve the latter with his strategy.
Ignoring the media BS, he is loaning out our 'subs' to keep them match fit and see how they develop which is better than having them training 90% of the time. Older players are off and that makes sense too.

I am sure Lingard is a bit torn, he loved us, then got loaned to WH, came back, nearly got sold/loaned to Newcastle and now he's 'back'. That's not going to help his motivation (but taking a week off is taking the piss).

I do feel RR is doing what ORD says.

Have to agree. I’m a bit confused by what’s being said in the media. Just keep it in house. If a player wants to be a silly bugger, fine them and keep it internal, if they start tweeting, retain a dignified silence and fine them again. Keep it in house and smile nicely when asked about it.
I think whats strange is that Ralf is actually answering questions that he is asked and just being honest. Working with alot of Germans they are quite Frank and open and straight to the point when asked.

The club obviously mucked Jesse around on deadline day, but he wanted to stay in the summer so not sure he can have many complaints. He is off in the summer on a free anyway so if he wants to moan on twitter let him do that.

Management is a really horrible job these days. Most players seem to he spoiled little man babies.

Jesse didn't keep it internal when he was posting pictures of him in a West Ham kit celebrating a few weeks ago was he? Plus his brother coming out saying he's in a prison etc. I like that Ralf is calling them out for what they are, spoiled babies getting paid a fortune. It was only mid way in to Jan that Jesse decided he wanted to leave so I don't know what else he expects the club to do.

The sooner we weed out the troublemakers the better.

Don’t get me wrong, we should have let him go last summer and definitely last month, but we’re inept at getting rid of players. However, we should still be keeping stuff internal. Let the players kick off in public, but punish them in private. We don’t have to be seen to be dealing with everything in public. Plus there’s no need to answer every question that’s put to the manager, very few do when you watch their interviews or press conferences.

Lingard as an example wanted to leave, we blocked his move and even if you read the stories about it being down to Greenwood, it’s much clearer that the reason was that United didn’t agree a deal with any of the clubs after him and that’s down to inept financial demands. We’ve now got another 5 months wages to pay him and he’ll probably sit on his backside for all of it.

Long overdue. The manager is in charge. Smiling and keeping the peace didn’t work for Ole. If we were top of the league with 5 trophies in the last 5 years I could accept mollycoddling egos. But fk that with these fringe players with no long term futures.

Yep.
Managers letting players insult the club are not helping themselves. Iron fist.

Nobody is saying “smile and keep the peace”. I’m certainly not. I’m saying manage it internally and manage it ruthlessly, with fines as often as you can. However, when asked by outside influences, simply smile and ignore the question. Don’t live your life in the public spotlight. We don’t need to know what’s happening. Fergie had a siege mentality. He never (or extremely rarely) spoke ill of any player, they were just shipped off elsewhere and that was that if they pissed him off. Ole was a farce with the press, he looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights every time a question was asked and waffled on about way too much. Rangnick is giving them far too much info to write dozens of stories a day.

I like it, fk em

It's all 6 of one half a dozen anyway

Martial throws a strop, RR says he didn't want to play, Martial says he never refused, semantics

Lingard I think all parties wanted him to go (there are interesting theories around him and leaks from OT) but the MG situation screwed it, RR says he needed a couple days to sort his head, Lingard says I'm fine the club said that, meh he's off in May

What I am hopeful of is the ones in the dressing room that matter are seeing that you tow the line or else and they are hopefully seeing disruptive influences getting shoved out leading to more harmony

What disruptive influences? Are the kids causing problems? Didn’t see DvB saying much. Yes Martial has gone, but we seemed to fight to keep Lingard when he could should have gone

Problem is that gets twisted into all sorts of rubbish, that could arguably be true. Better to say nothing and laugh at the crap that they have to completely make up.
