RIP Westy. He could throw a ball as far as some keepers can kick it nowadays. He seldom kicked it out. See 1966 FA cup final. Amazing throw. One of our greats.

Thought I'd try to get us moving the right way up the table. How can we be linked with this Benfica forward for £16m? Does anyone actually believe that our beloved Chairman wis digging down the back of his sofa as I write, or is it the case that Baines is a done deal?

Which Benfica forward? I'd heard Naismith, that Panjisomethingorother Croation fellow, Donovan, Quagliarella, and a few others.

Oscar Cardoza, he's Argentinian and currently with Benfica but let's not get too excited!

Well, we got Naismith from Rangers. It seems his knees are OK. Seems an odd transfer, but he had a really good relationship, and partnership with Jelavic, I think it could be a cracking signing, and free as well, (ignoring a signing on fee for the player). Moyes said he wanted to build around Jelavic, and this could be a decent start.

In addition, in the rumours page, talk of Rodellega. Now I do not see him as a first xi player, but as a replacement for Anichebe. We could offload him, (and his quite high wages apparently), and replace with another free player.

A good signing I think, now need to offload a couple of the squad strikers ie Victor, Fads and Gueye.

Secure Peanuts and extend Baines and Fellaini.

Also, try and get a young promising rightback.

We can only get a young, promising right back once Hibbert has scored. It's the law.

There has been talk of Donavon selling his home in the US as he's coming to EFC, if true and we land Peanuts without losing any of our key pleayers (Baines, Jag, Felli), then I fancy we may improve on last season. Lot's of 'ifs' in there though, but it wouldn't take much to really improve us. I think Naismith was a no-brainer on a free, have a Rangers pal who reckons he was their star man most games last season, good signing and probably means Cahill will go to China now to see out his career.

Rumours of Pranjic having a medical. No idea if true. Friend in the UK emailed me about it.

Official site talking about going after Pienaar now. Wonder how that will turn out with Spirs having a new manager person.

Well Pienaar could just tell his manager he wants to go to Everton and i dont want to play for Tottenham , so Mr Boas rings Moysie and tells him you can have him in exchange for the big fella??

yes but if you could only have the one player , i take it you would keep felli,
Isuppose i would rather have him, just get the feeling some one will come in for him , he has said he would go, for the chance to play in europe, and more money

Well, I would rather keep Felli than have Pienaar. Both would be nice though. He said stuff of that ilk, but I think is was one of those journo conversations that are designed for silly season. He said if someone comes in for him, and the club want to sell he will go, but he hasn't said he wants to go. He is, I think, our biggest asset at the moment, I think.
