united played well considering their limitations. 10/10 for effort meant few openings for the city players to exploit.

strange to think city would play like that in the goater days and sometimes get a result, and that would be the highlight of the season by some chalk.

Considering uniteds limitations beating you 3 out of 4 games can’t be a fluke .

To be fair any team can be got at if the opposition has a solid game plan and every player is disciplined and committed. Just like Watford, West Ham and AM did to us.

As a neutral I thought it was a very entertaining game, City didn’t play badly at all. They had 78% possession but did little with it (like us in Madrid) and just missed KdB and the usually good keeper had a couple of brain farts as big as those of his tattooist.

United were excellent without the ball and should have had a couple more had the forwards been more aware

It was a blip (As SAF used to say).

We will still finish second to a fantastic Liverpool team, hardly a disgrace.

What other club has two clowns as goalkeepers?

Real Madrid will be boosted by this result.

Funny you should mention us against Atletico, as Utd use much the same tactics against the top teams; out of possession they generally have a back 6 and play on the break. They can get away with those tactics now because their fans realise they're a team in transition and because they have the players that can make it effective. It's also why they struggle against the "lower" opposition, because they're expected to command the game and be more attacking.

It'll be interesting to see what they do in a season or two against the top six sides when fans might expect more of a fight and maybe won't accept just packing out the defence and playing on the counter.

Difference being we will have signed better players, like Bruno, who are capable of unlocking a tightly packed defence which we've been lacking for quite some time now.

Anyway this is the City thread.

Glory glory Man United wink

they'll need it. rolled by betis last night. so we both lost to rubbish sides wink

for the record. where did i say it was a fluke? manyoo put 100% effort in against city this year and got the reward. problem at old trafford seems to be getting the players up for lesser opposition.

Not as gut wrenching as it’ll be when they have to abandon the PL and Liverpool’s wait goes on smile
