Dowd Pardoe Doyle Book Summerbee Lee Young Bell Booth ..... stuck there, but on research Oakes & Coleman . I was at the game ( 12 years old ) my first match! I only knew it was Harry Dowd in goal because I’ve been asked the question before before and I said Joe Corrigan , and was corrected.

No problem mate.
I started this thread in 2007 and went to my first game at Maine Road in 1961.
My mum was moved from Manchester (further north) when WW2 kicked off . Two of my Grandfather’s ( mum’s dad ) brothers .. Sammy Cookson & Jimmy Cookson played for City. (1920’s) I think Jimmy moved on to West Brom. but Sammy had a good career with City (right back) about 300 appearances I believe. So it was my Granddad Frank Cookson, who made sure I didn’t follow the reds like most of the kids. I started this thread in 2007 and went to my first game at Maine Road in 1961.

I'm sure you all got these cup winners ...
I spent most of my pre-teenage years in the back garden trying to replicate Shilton's dive when Neil Young scored - it was the best i had ever seen. He was a young, fit 'keeper of course then ... if only he had had that mobility 21 years later when he di a great impression of a sack of potatoes in not getting near any of the German penalties in the World Cup semi-final shoot-out ... !

Sad to hear. I was at the 1969 FA cup final in which Glyn played. It’s made me wonder how old Franny Lee, Colin Bell, Summerbee must be, Pardoe was one of the youngest players in the team. He will get good mention at the next home game....... when ?
R.I.P.
Is it just me or is anybody else not that excited about the return of the PL
On one hand is IS football, Liverpool deserve the title at last, we’re still involved in 2 cups, relegation and promotion need sorting somehow and there doesn’t seem to be any other options.
On the other hand it’s been stopped for sometime now because of more important things and the idea of playing behind closed doors really doesn’t make it the same without the crowd behind the home team.
The last 9 games aren’t being played under the same conditions as the previous ones and I wouldn’t like to be a relegation candidate at the moment. Apparently in Germany, home wins are down 25% from what would be expected. As for playing at a neutral ground!
It would have been interesting if the Liverpool match had been at anfield with no crowd there affecting Sterling.
Obviously my opinion will change tomorrow evening!

I don't support one club so in the minority but I haven't missed it at all. THere's always stuff to do - house, car, family etc. If it had been a major part of my life then it would be different no doubt - but I won't even watch many games now it is back, but I will watch the Scousers taking the title - well the last 10mins probably.stuartmmcfc said:

There’s no soundtrack

Sky and BT have soundtrack (fan noise) makes a massive difference... Germans (as always) started it couple weeks back, before then it was a hard watch.
I was surprised how much of a difference it made if i'm honest. It wasn't really watchable for me without crowd noise. Although in fairness neither team was my team, sure it would be different in Liverpool was one of the teams. Do you expect Guadiola will put out a weakened team in the premier league for the remainder of the season whilst you concentrate on the two cups? I'm trying to pick my fantasy football team but struggling to justify any City players (my team is usually packed with them!) as I fully expect a huge amount of rotation or playing of so called reserve players.
