Feels like a loss after this shambles of a second half. Oh well, 3 points.
Agreed. We need to sort this malaise out as it’s the sort of poor play that becomes the norm very quickly. Thoroughly unimpressed with our performances at the moment.

Conversely 41 points from 18 played would be considered a good return in a normal season and we’d be right in the hunt.

He did, but it was Barry with his foot on De Gea's ankle that caused the problems. Dirty oik.

3 points, now lets forget it ever happened and move onto the next one whistle

We have won a lot of games playing dreadful football this season. Strange times.

Utter ste. How Jones or rojo play in a top (no wise cracks from the ABUs) premiership side is beyond me.

Agreed. The standard of football simply isn’t good enough. I know we need a winner like Mourinho, but we have to get back to the good football we were playing earlier in the season.

I’m sick of watching football played at a snails pace with everyone standing still. It’s piss poor. It’s not the United way. fk it. We can’t win the league so why not go out and entertain. Pressure’s off.

Missed the game, sounds like we weren't great again but I'll take winning ugly any day of the week. We can't give up on the title.

Pogba's back now. No doubt we miss him when he's not in the side.

It's up to us to win the "pressure" trophy this season...

The teams development is about layers for me. First season under Jose was to win a trophy, get back in the champions league. Second season challenge for the title and perform well in the champions league. Third season win league and champions league. To do that he needs the right squad and that takes time as well as money too...

I wish I shared your optimism, but there's not a lot in this current side that fills me with confidence to be honest.

There’s no pressure to be applied, when City are beating everyone comfortably. If anything the pressure is on us and we’re not dealing with it very well.

Layers? No doubt that we’ve progressed in some ways ie winning matches that we’d have drawn last year, but there’s no swagger about us, no fear factor for the opposition to deal with and we’re still very fragile even at 2-0 we could easily choke.

This is another game where we’ve won despite the opposition having more shots, following Bournemouth and Arsenal. If that approach continues then we will start losing those games.

I think we're doing just fine. 6 points out of 6 in the last two and we're moaning. Shows how standards have improved since Jose took over.

I think statistically we run less than the other teams so theoretically come the end of the season and the run in we should be in great shape and City's players should be fked. biggrin

Lies, damn lies and statistics hehe

I’m complaining because I expect more. We can’t be reliant on one player to the extent we are. As much as we joke about the Spuds losing their best players we could see some of our better ones wanting to walk if they can’t see a title in the near future. Plus attracting top players will be very difficult if there’s no chance of a title. At least in Spain two teams can win the title.

I share your optimism but it was poor today. As it's 2 wins post a deflating derby I think that's a straw to be grasped at. The wheels could have come off this week but they didn't. Its far more complex than we'll be okay next week because Paul's back but that seemed to be the mentality today.

Look at the Liverpool match. Pace, movement, players running onto balls rather than standing waiting for it to arrive along with two opposition defenders.

They’re 2 up and it could be 5 after less than half an hour.

You know what Liverpool are like, they could just as easily be 4-2 down at half-time.

Quite. The pressure is on us to not slip up, at all, and hope that City do. We're at our best when we're up against it and I do think that having PP back in the side will have a positive effect. We're doing ok. Lots of football to be played yet.

They could but it’s unlikely when Bournemouth can barely get a kick in Liverpool’s half.

In between posting on here on my aging iPad I am doing, I totally get what you're saying. Mourinho will be watching too. I think we've got a good team and a great manager. He puts a hell of a lot of trust in his players especially the defence and going back to the layers thing, his first job was to make us defensively sound. Something he can't be accused of not getting right.

The swagger will come back.

The reality is that we’re going to have to win every single match from now til the end of the season which isn’t going to happen, as City have just set a 16 match winning streak record. Even then we need them lose four matches which is highly unlikely too.

I still think that we should play for entertainment and stop thinking about the league which is long gone. Mourinho should be trying to win the fans over and focus on other trophies.

We can't just give up. We've got to keep winning.
