Scottish Football - Why?

Men like Martin O'Neill and Tommy Burns (like Walter Smith) were able to be passionate about their team and their club whilst still earning the respect of their rivals. Gracious in victory. Dignified in defeat.
Neil Lennon is cut from different cloth. He hasn't earned respect, he's inspired contempt. But hey, if that's what CFC and its supporters want for their public image of management that's their business, and their choice.
Here's hoping that even if he doesn't become a great success, Ally McCoist at least conducts himself with some dignity. I'm sure he will.
Respect and rangers might start with the same letter but that is all they have in common!Neil Lennon is cut from different cloth. He hasn't earned respect, he's inspired contempt. Didn't rangers fans sing on tv mocking the death of Tommy Burns not that long ago?
"bheggers" that's a laugh when rangers were just sold for £1 !!!!!

And what about the disgraceful female bheggar wearing football colours in the Scottish Parliament?
She wore a football shirt on her last day in a job to raise money for charity and you think its wrong?Never had a dress down day at the office or school then?
And some of your more extreme supporters thing its OK to send her a letter bomb as a result? Muppets.
As an ex-member of the forces I do find the anti-British army protests a little uncomfortable. However, they are just that, protests, and part of what a democratic society is all about is free speech.
Not withstanding that a large proportion of the Celtic support are Irish and associate with the club on that basis. They then do, understandably, feel uncomfortable with any implied or tacit support of the forces. As much as I disagree with it I understand the reasoning.
Your brethren do not seem to know the difference at the minute between protest and illegality: Death threats, bullets, bombs, assaults and a history built upon sectarianism and exclusion.
You must be very, very proud.

Lennon is hated throughout scottish football there are people at every club that hate him. Not just since becoming a manager but as a player he was always singled out at grounds around Scotland. I think after everything he has been through this year its even more disgraceful that people are still on his back. Listening to the football phone in's you listen to the idiots saying he has brought it upon himself and his antics insight hatred. He is one man in front of 40+ thousand people giving him abuse for the past couple of hours.
Slightly off topic, but regarding Rangers trying to eradicate the problem within there fans. I know Rangers rejected an invitation to help work with an organisation going into schools to promote anti sectarian message. Martin Bain has being saying for some time that he believes singing is 'no more than a tit-for-tat 'wind up' of Celtic supporters should be singled out in this way and merit the attention of police, governments and anti-racism organisations'. He also said that rangers were singled out by scottish football rather than taking a look at his fans conduct. I dont believe Rangers are doing anything off there own back and its more down to pressure from outside organisations. But that must be parkhead paranoia...
Scottish Football - Why?
I think you're all kinda missing the point.
Its always been assumed by the 4 Home Nations that once Scottish teams compete in the English Premier League UEFA (& by extension FIFA) will demand that the 4 national teams be disbanded and a UK team instituted in its place to compete in the European Championship and World Cup.
Both organisations have always been put-out by the fact that the UK gets 4 votes to everyone else's 1 vote for decades now but with the seperation of the leagues there was nothing they could do about it in reality - the Welsh league doesn't count in this respect it doesn't get entry to the Champions league IIRC.

A UK League would be excellent. I doubt the majority (me included) would be happy at losing our national team though .Because, lets face it, it would end up as the England national team.I think you're all kinda missing the point.

What does this matter? It's 4 different countries and football authorities votes?Do you mean there's 4 votes which would result in World Cup 2012 UK for example? Pretty sure it's not put forward jointly like that so why would it make a difference?
We're 4 separate entities, voting for 4 separate choices.

I wonder if fellow rangers supporters reported the people who smashed up the Celtic shop after rangers WON the league this year? Doubt it..

Yeah but in football, which we are talking about, UEFA and FIFA, we're 4 separate entities, going for 4 separate things so damn right we should have 4 votes.
