Going for the money? I imagine PSG must have offered a hell of lot more.
Good luck to him anyway - served the club well.

That report looks like they're just reporting what was being posted on Twitter yesterday. Although you'd think he'd have made his mind up by now...Good luck to him anyway - served the club well.

His moving was meant to be all about 1 big last pay day so I guess if he does choose PSG, that would be pretty definite proof of that.
I wish him all the best!
He was an early Klopp signing from a relegated club (though he'd only been there for one season). He always did the under appreciated work brilliantly and (I think) never attracted any fan criticism (maybe he could have contributed more goals though ).
I'm glad that he had the highlights of the Barcelona semi final but, on a weekly basis, he was usually one of the first on the team sheet.

Sorry, mistyped. We offered £125k, Barcelona offered £75k.
But that means we offered £13m in 2 years and Barca offered £11.7m over 3 I'd treat those numbers with a bit of scepticism though, if Barcelona's finances are as rumoured then they would absolutely be looking to structure that deal with the signing on fee being rolled into the weekly rather than upfront, so you'd expect to see a very high wages figure. being reported.
The other part then is if Liverpool have to pay millions to replace him, why not just pay him enough to stay, he's already worth nothing so has done all his depreciation? Better to pay the money to some young kid that will appreciate in value over those two/three years, or play for us for a decade.
I think the most interesting part of these transactions is that the balance between pay for the extra years for proven quality vs take a punt on someone else is it depends who the replacement is. You'd hope there's someone lined up rather than a Corporate Policy being applied in isolation.
I'd treat the whole money angle with some scepticism too though, for many of the non-dhead players adding an extra year onto the contract is worth a lot because it's one more year as a pro footballer at the top in a career where you're a long time retired.
