Yep he was a sought after player, wanted by lots of clubs. According to reports it was known about his time keeping issues, and struggles to adhere to disciplined managers but clubs put measures in place to help him.
It obviously hasnt worked out for him at United, but perhaps his game is suited to a european style? Slightly slower in terms of pace might be preffered.
I don’t think Ronnie arriving helped him we other….

You seem very sure he'd be willing to move to SA even if they do come in for him?

If he's as lazy as suggested then £250k a week until 2027 for bugger all effort might be more appealing?
£250k a week tax free in the sun >>>>>> £250k a week subject to income tax in stty Manchester weather

Erm, actually the weather here is lovely at the moment. The sun was out for a few minutes the other day.

Now on sky and talkSPORT.

A fish rots from the head and he hasn’t moved the club forward since Woodward went and his handling of recent off pitch issues just wasn’t good enough. I doubt he’ll be missed.

So the “imaginary” take over is underway. Let’s hope it’s change for the better. Radcliffe isn’t an idiot. It’s got to be an improvement having an actual United supporting, sport loving local born billionaire as a part owner.

Instead of the current leaches.
A quarter of something isn’t all of it. When it’s 100% then it’s a takeover, until then it’s a buy in.

I’m happy to agree that the removal of Arnold is a good thing.

Ditto at some point getting rid of the leeches. I’d just like it to happen, rather than pretending them selling a small portion of their stake whilst retaining a majority shareholding is a takeover.

On the subject of Sancho, curious as to people's views on which of our turd wingers is the worst signing ever made by United. Is it Sancho or is it Antony?

Was Sanchez a winger? If so, he must be a strong candidate.

Ps, if it’s a straight choice of who’s worst from Sancho and Antony, it’s deffo Sancho for me. At least Antony gives it a bit of effort and can still run beyond the 50 minute mark.

He doesn't need 100%, just a majority. Or even less than a majority so long as public shareholders don't group-together.

Apparently circa Feb 2023 the Glazers owned 69%.

I presume this is now 44% and Ratcliffe 25%.

I would assume he has an option in the contract to purchase another 20% given certain conditions.

The owners have played a blinder getting Nice but dim Jim to come in and and basically pay for all the infrastructure improvements that they've neglected for so long and add to the transfer kitty, meaning they get to stay in place and continue helping themselves to the same proportion of income they've always taken out of the club.
I doubt that’s happening. More that the invest has come in, with the plan to have full control eventually.

The journey to a full takeover will be long but we should be happy it has begun. Even it Ratcliffe's influence is to organise the football side much better for success it would have been worth it. The last decade since Sir Alex left has been painful but even then in this dark period we managed to win 3 trophies and make a number of finals. So I tell myself imagine being a Spurs fan even though our standards are completely different!

They may own a smaller percentage, but they have all the voting rights. So 69% gives them effectively 100%. The public shareholder don’t have any voting rights of note. We don’t know what voting rights came with that 25% stake, we also don’t know if it had to be split equally or proportionately from the other shareholders who may wish to sell as well.

We can assume anything we want around what the deal entails, but it is just assumption. The one thing that is clear, is that he’s no mug so will have done one hell of a lot of due diligence and more than likely lined up timelines, costs and amounts of further equity he will though want a return on his investment. He’s stupidly rich, but billionaires don’t just give money away when they’ve had to work hard to get it in the first place, so he’ll be expecting a return as well.

Anyone know anything about Cooperman who’s just bought 1m shares? I thought he was a Russ Abbot character.

Correct answer is alexis Sanchez ,not only did he not perform his arrival completely disrupted the dressing room with his outrageous salary .

How come Ratcliffe didn't go for a full buy out/full control at this stage?
To be honest i don't know, but I doubt thats what the Glazers want. You have a number of Glazers who want to sell-up and Joel / Avram who dont really want to get rid of the cash cow. If they wanted to full sell-up they would have accepted the Qatar offer, but they went with Jim as it offers them best value overall.

No idea if this is true, but the World Cup in the US will in 2026. Unclear on the timelines that have been agreed for a complete take over, but you can easily see that the Glazers have there eye on increasing the interest of the club from US sponsors and potentially increasing the share price value.

I think what we learned from this fiasco is that no one has the faintest clue about what was going on ,I’m not even sure the glazers knew .

Where Bellion and Bebe not wingers? Are they not worse than Sancho and Antony?

You forgot Obertan too. We've had a few stunners, but admittedly not at the mental prices of Sancho and Antony.

It seems Murtaugh is following Arnold out of the door too now. Not massively surprising either way - either Murtaugh is at fault for the idenfitication and signings, or for not rejecting them. As DoF he was screwed, especially with Arnold going.

Will be interesting who comes in and how much of a change they make. The Blanc (not Laurent) fella looks to have a great CV, but not so sure on the candidates for DoF. Dougie Freedman (currently at Palace) is getting a mention, which is a little surprising but is mates with SAF or something so that's one to watch.

Bellion vs Antony;

Bellion

€3mn transfer fee
40 appearances
10 goal contributions across 1705 minutes
1 goal contribution per 170 mins played
0 yellow cards

Antony

€95mn transfer fee
56 appearances
11 goal contributions across 3766 minutes
1 goal contribution per 342 mins played
10 yellow cards = 1 yellow card per 376 minutes played

Literally almost as likely to get booked as to contribute to a goal.
