Johnson lucky not to get a red there.

Based on that game you'd really describe Carroll as great, Hendo as Superb and Carra fantastic?

At least Downing didn't make your list of star performers. Let's hope we don't rue only a one goal lead at home.
Yh cant really agree with those myself - I thought Henderson did really well - not sure on the others...
Checking in for the new thread.

Can't complain about a 1-0 win - we'd have taken it before the game.

I thought Carroll was poor tonight, Henderson looked knackered by the end and Adam was OK.

Johnson was superb, as was Gerrard, Skrtel looked pretty good too.

Tough game, decent result. It'll do.

Glad the Man City fans turned up too......

yikes

I knew the FA were being harsh with the punishments lately but that is severe!
Why? 3 game red straight red - then an extra game for it being 2nd red of the year - been like that for donkeys....

And fking well in Stevie having a go at Mancini there. Awesome.
Agreed with that. wkstain Mancini saying Rooney got Kompany sent off while waving his imaginary cards around, somebody needed to say something.

Which makes it even more funny.

The consistency of referreeing is really poor in the premier league. Don't think it would have made a difference to this game though.

he ran up to the ref with 2 fingers up shouting that it was a two footed challenge. not an imaginary card, but as good as.

It wasn't and neither was Kompany's. The Kompany's tackle I thought was marginally better and I can understand Mancini being annoyed that one is a red and the other is nothing. I don't think he expressed himself well there, his point was that it was inconsistent, he didn't think Kompany should have been off, so he can't think Johnson should have been off either.

but the FA have set a precedent. agreed, neither should have been a red, but once a precedent is set then it should be followed.

maybe the total lack of reaction from the city players was the difference?

Yeah exactly... it's not like I denied Rooney did anything, but Mancini needs to keep his imaginary cards if he's going to say anything about it.

Carra came on to do a job on Nasri and sit infront of the back two/three - he did it very well.

Carroll played alone and late in the second half did very well in holding their attack back, slowing things down.

Hendo did very well against top players and showed experiance for a young man/lad.

Man City in the league have played 10 and won 10, letting in only 4 goals but bagging 31 - Do not underestimate what a good result/performance this was.
