I sympathise with Gareth but he never should have went to Spain in the first place, he is just a simple lad at heart and if he had stayed at Spurs or even went to Man Utd he would have been fantastic.
He;s won so much at Madrid and has done really well in the big games. He might have made that impact at UK clubs, but I'm pleased he stretched himself and went. As you know having lived in Germany, it's a brave decision to move and difficult to integrate unless you throw yourself into it.. He should have learned the language (I did when I lived in Spain) as its not that difficult to get the basics. He's scored some key and important goals, been a big influence but clearly has not managed to build relationships. The Spanish do eat much later than in the UK, particularly in Madrid and that episode where he did not go out with his teammates was not a good one. HIs salary for some years will have been at a much lower rate of tax (Beckham law) and he has a great lifestyle
I'm pleased that he tested himself, whether it was successful I'm not sure, but if you want to be a great player, you have to push
If I was a footballer abroad I'd want my contract to include provision of 3 extremely beautiful sex-addicted and uninhibited local female language tutors in the age range 25-35, each providing "tutoring" one day a week with a group session after weekend fixtures. It's the least the club could do to compensate for the major sacrifice I'd made by moving to Johnny foreigner land

That's why he might be off to Thailand - Not_True
Not a fan of Guilleme Ballague but he's spot on with this article.
It's going to cost RM £35m from now until the end of Bale's contract just to be stubborn. Apparently James Rodriguez is in a similar position so make it a nice round £50m.
