The more I watch that Franco play, the more impressed I am by him. I hope that once Cole is fit we can use them well together and keep Diamanti as more of an impact player. Diamanti is good, but how many fking times did he fall over yesteday??! He seemed a lot livelier during the first half than the second IMHO.

It wasn't a penalty either, I could see it well from where I was sat. But I'd take a point against Chelsea and then beat Pompey on Boxing Day rather than 3 yesterday and lose on Boxing Day.

Oh, and whoever said about Lampard being on their shirt, I've just gone and pulled all my old ones out. Ferdinand, Carrick, Cole and Lampard are on four of my shirts from my youth hehe

Here's a bit of fun, over on a West ham chat forum I frequent a chap's posted a link to a site running an award for the Congolese player of the year, yesterday Ilunga was about 100 votes behind but now he's within one or two votes, I know he's not been so good this season but he's one of ours and it would be good for him to win so here's the post clipped from the forum. The site in question is in French but it's pretty easy to find the vote now buttons! smile

Agree, I think that Cole & Franco will work well together - similar to the Zamora / Tevez combo from a couple of seasons ago. Franco holds the ball up well & seems to be better in the air than Coley.

Diamanti doesn't seem to be able to play a full 90 mins effectively & is much better as an impact, as you say - against the arse earlier in the season he changed the game when he came on but doesn't seem to be able to make enough difference over the course of a full game. Pity as he's got some decent touches & delivers a quality dead ball.

Decent result that, 2-0 always looks good. Not best 98 mins of footie I've ever seen but who cares smile

Cracking goal from Kovac, had another good game after the Chelski game & Scotty P was outstanding again.

Bring on the spuds!!

Did they offer any "expert" analysis of it? I watched the full game on Sky Football First and by the time I switched over I had missed the Hammers on MOTD. What was their opinion?

West Ham were incredibly lucky to even take the field. They should have been kicked out of the league over the Tevez saga. Both goals should have been disallowed and awarded to Portsmouth. Why are we showing the game second up? whats wrong with showing it last like normal with 30 seconds of footage. Why don`t we just show the Liverpool goals on a recurring loop for an hour so I can jack myself off repeatedly when Gerrard scores.

well that was all depressingly predictable, although better second half until the midget snuck in.

only watched it on tv, but couldn't seem to keep hold of the ball & had no attacking options when we did have possession. poor game from diamanti, as usual, scoring pens is one thing mate, need some service from you during open play.

pity scotty parker had to come off so soon & missed ilunga after he went off - spector couldn't get to grips with lenan.

sooner cole's back the better, we've had nothing up front for the last couple of games & franco can't do it on his own!

Seems like they might be recalling Freddie Sears from his loan at Palace, as we have no strikers at the moment.
