He lost as many in 27 games as Jose did in 78.

Terrible decision. Should have been given more time.

I'm now thinking about applying for the vacant position, do sh17e for 6 months max, get sacked and pocket a huge payout.

Job done smile

should have given him time for his 3 year project but the owner demands instant results, which makes me question why he hired him In the first place?

Jose back in the summer?

Blimey that puts it into perspective.

I reckon if he stayed he could have got rid of the geriatrics and splashed the cash in the summer. Then give it a season to gel and they would have been competing properly again.

But Mourinho's team wasn't past it.
Agree with Robbie Savage :hangsheadinshame: that he had a team that needed a major overhaul but couldn't drop the old players (who are no doubt on the highest wages)

Should have kept him until the end of season with a new manager lined up if they didn't finish 4th, putting the assistant in charge for 10 games won't magically improve things.

Dalglish for Chelsea. What was the classic phrase ..... I'll drive him down myself.

On a serious note I think whoever is in next needs to clear out the old guard that seem to be very good at falling out with their managers.

Really hope Rafa doesn't end up there. Glenn's right, the owner should just do his coaching badges and do it himself.

Insanity.

I'm guessing Capello will be next to put his head on the block. The Di Matteo appointment would suggest that they already have someone in mind for next season. Possibly he is currently employed or has contract termination clauses that would limit when he could come to the club.

Bonkers decision none the less.
