I dno't think the Woman's game gets enough TV coverage or attention. they are half the bleeding population for christ sake.

We should not judge it by male standards, as they are not male. They are female, and the game should be played to suit their strengths, not try and turn it into a version of the men's game.
Exactly right.

I wonder, people who moan about womens football, do they watch greyhound racing and moan because they're not as powerful as horses?

Absolutely bonkers viewpoint.

Don't take it personally Twig. Greyhounds are faster than horses so they're exciting to watch for that reason. smile

Vonuber: womens football doesn't get coverage because it doesn't really get viewers: that's just the way it is. It's no slight against women, most people just don't particularly want to watch them play football as they don't enjoy watching them play that much. To suggest that because women make up half the population, they should get more coverage doesn't really make sense. Sport is watched for excitement, not because of how many people of a certain gender live in the country.

I'm not sure who suggested turning womens football into mens football - do you have a link? - but you can't force people to like something, and it follows that you can't force more coverage if people don't like it, and therefore won't watch it, as to do so would be economically unviable.

How about mixed teams? Each team could comprise 5 outfield male players + 5 outfield female players + 1 female goalie (to ensure high-scoring matches).

The after-match team bath would be a popular attraction for many participants.

I realise that women's footy is less popular than men's footy. Most women who like football prefer men's football.

But to mock women's football because it's slower than men's football and they can't kick it as far is a bit sad really. And I suspect most men who mock women's football wouldn't be good enough get into the Englands women's team.
