Looking at pre season performances, Chelsea might not be such a bad shout weeping

I might be proved wrong come May next year but as a Leeds fan I don't think we'll be in a relegation scrap this season. Yes we've lost Phillips and Raphina but due to injury KP didn't contribute much last season and there were times when Rapha's head wasn't in the right place either. I'm obviously sorry they've gone - and genuinely wish them both well - but I think we're making a decent job of reinvesting the proceeds we've received from selling them and overall I think we'll have if anything a stronger squad at the start of this season the we did at the start of last. Hopefully we won't be ravaged by injuries again but if we are I think we'll have more strength in depth to cope and I reckon we'll be solid mid-table this time around.

As is often the case, I think at least a couple of the newly promoted clubs will find life difficult in the Premier League and I also think Brentford might struggle without Eriksen (and even more so if they also lose Toney who's rumoured to be attracting attention from other clubs). I think the likes of Southampton and Everton are also more likely to struggle than Leeds but only time will tell!

I'm a brentford fan and it pains me to say it, but I am worried this season. Ericson was a long shot in my book, and was never likely to stay based on the fact he only wanted a 6 month contract with us anyway.

Forest have spent heavily, think they have 11 new players - will these guys gel quickly, will the manager know his prefered team etc.

Bournemouth - not seen much about them in the press, I rate parker, but I think it might be a step too far.

Fulham - they have more financial clout than the others due to being the yoyo team, think they will be safe.

My 3 for going down are bournemouth, Everton, Forest

Think the bottom 6 will consist of Brentford, Bournemouth, Fulham, Everton, Southampton and Forest.

So much harder to predict bottom three than top three!

A league with three good managers. And two excellent teams. Two or three teams that are good and improving, and then a load of mis-managed dross!

Do you think? EPL has 14 of the top 30 teams in Europe by revenue. Looked at over recent seasons, only Liverpool and Chelsea punch their weight in Europe. At a push you could just about include City, Spurs and Man U, but barely.

These things are best judged over a few seasons. Leicester we tend to think of a smaller club. They have the 15th largest revenue in Europe. West Ham, the 16th.

Liverpool and Man City are in a different class to the rest of the PL. I think City will win the league this year by a margin. I think Liverpool will finish 2nd comfortably. Third place could be a number of teams that manage to string some good results together.

I do think there is a number of teams who could easily go down. It will be tight down there.

Looking at the signings and I think Everton are looking stronger relegation candidates than I previously thought. Have they no money to spend to improve the team after selling Richarlison?

I have a feeling that we won't see a clear bottom three in the EPL this season. Instead, I expect a bottom six or seven including the newly promoted teams and the usual suspects.
My predicted bottom seven are: Bournemouth, Forest, Brentford, Fulham, Everton, Leeds and Southampton. I can't see anyone outside of that group being in serious danger.
If I had to select three to be relegated I'd plump for Bournemouth, Forest and Brentford.

Everton have been walking a bit of a tightrope with the Financial Fair Play regulations. There was a bit of a dance with the transfer of Richarlison in that the deal was confirmed to the Premier League before the paperwork was done, so that Everton could be seen to meet the June 30th deadline for complying with profit and sustainability regulations relating to permitted debt over a three year period. So in theory, they are allowed to spend on transfers now. So any lack of transfer activity is presumably down to not being able to find players or players not wanting to join what looks to be a sinking ship.

Brentford and Leeds are certainties for me, possibly Forest as well. Leeds pulled out a miracle last season but I predict they will be bottom two and have sacked their manager by January

To be fair you were close last year, and although you've added some new players, some of them won't work out, some will take time to add value and so on. You've also lost your two best players, one of whom was a goalscorer against any opposition, which isn't easy to backfill. I think you'll be down around the drop zone come next May, but as with all the others, in with a decent chance of staying up.

Everton buying Burnley players means they'll be right down there I reckon. I rate Sean Dyche far, far, far more than Frank Lampard so taking an awful team, losing Richarlison who was one of two players who stepped up when most needed and kept them safe and replacing them with Burnley players is a real gamble.

My money is on FF being the first manager gone this season.

As a Bees fan, I agree with that this is going to be a harder season to stay up than last season, and I'm worried that we'll drop at the end of this season.
My bottom six teams are almost the same as yours, but I think Forest will have that first season bounce, having not been in the top flight for so long.......and Cooper is a good coach. Leeds instead of Forest would be my bottom six.

Bottom three is tough between them all and I think it could be only be a couple points between the bottom six teams at seasons end.

And I agree, Everton look in the worse shape at the moment, and might be my only dead cert of those 6 to go down.

The point you've raised there is a very fair one. Last summer we signed next to nobody - and very nearly paid the price when injuries struck - whereas this summer we've signed quite a few and the danger is they don't gel quickly and/or some of them simply aren't up to it. I am slightly concerned one or two seem to have been signed partly on the basis they played under Jesse Marsch at Salzburg or Leipzig but with the best will in the world looking decent in, say, the Austrian first division is rather different from being competitive in the Premier League.

On balance I still think we'll be ok but if we get off to a bad start I think Marsch will find himself under pressure quite quickly given the money we've spent on new players who were (presumably) requested by him....

In no particular order; Bournemouth, Fulham and Southampton.

I think Ralph will be the first to get the sack as well.

Lots of talk about Everton, but I think we'll be OK(ish). Our biggest issue last season was injuries and we were just behind Leeds on that front. We just need a back up striker and Guaye to come back on loan and we'll be set for a bumpy season again!

Southampton can’t continue to win 3 or 4 then get 2 points from 36 or whatever and survive.
Parker was in the press this week virtually pleading for new players.
Although they’ve been a surprising breath of fresh air Leeds worry me having sold their two stars… them or Fulham take the last spot with Brentford and Everton clinging on.

I’ll go
20th Bournemouth
19th Fulham
18th Southampton
17th Leeds
16th Brentford
15th Everton

1st West Ham.

Of course any managerial changes means my choices are null and void !

Brentford - lost best player and momentum
Leeds - will get even more found out this season, but may be Bournemouth instead.
Brighton - my wild card (*). Hopefully their manager will be at Everton or Spurs by Xmas, they've lost two good players, had their day in the sun. Time to go.
