That's the most disappointing day I've spent at Anfield in 28 years.
Not because of the result, they put 10 men behind the ball and played their hearts out. Not surprising considering their support.
Support. A word that Liverpool fans need to think about very carefully. Last week the scum made more noise than we did, Stoke made 20, 30 times as much noise as we did. It was pathetic.
What really pissed me off as these terrific supporters sang their bks off was the reaction of our so called fans. Granted I was in the Main Stand, but even so. People were giggling and shaking their heads like the Stoke lads were a joke, and not worthy, well from where I was sitting they were magnificent and we're the joke.
I think that at one point the Kop sang Scouser Tommy, but I'm not sure, I couldn't hear over the noise of the Stoke fans.
I know I always compare Anfield to the good old days, and nothing is ever going to live up to that, but when we make less noise than the away fans something is wrong.
Too many women, too many corporates, too many eastern european day trippers.
Painful.

Try to get to Anfield as often as possible but tickets from official sources are not easy to get hold of.
The Stoke ones were the first ones that went on general sale this year.
The morning they went on sale the website crashed, despite it being supposedly improved, and the phone line is a joke, its a national call rate number and if its engaged they make you listen to a 30 second long message before you find this out before automatically diconnecting you. You then have to do it all again.
I finally got the website to work and the new website does seem better than last year.
However for two tickets in Either Anfiedl Rd or the Kop in the top corners..... £37 each plus 3 pounds booking fee.
40 quid to see them play Stoke??? Maybe if they reduced the prices of tickets for less popular games they would get fans who woudl make a noise and support the team properly?
Love seeing Liverpool at Anfield but not at 40 quid a pop.
PS: Out of interest for the samller games is it worth turning up and seeing what the touts have available? Do they charge a big mark up on smaller games especially just before kick off?

Agree the phone system and website(like all their commercial operations) are a complete joke. Rick Parry has got to be the worst chief exec of any company in the world.
I get most of my tickets by writing to the ticket office 18 days prior to the game, but e-season ticket ballot sometimes comes good, and PTS is superb if you can get on it. I'm lucky that I know a lot of fans who always apply for tickets, then redistribute within our network if they can't go for any reason.

Good post, I was ridiculed on here for exposing the myth of the kop noise and how TV makes it sound louder than it is.Not because of the result, they put 10 men behind the ball and played their hearts out. Not surprising considering their support.

Old Trafford is also ste now, full of women, day trippers and foreigners. Chelsea only sang 2 songs on Saturday and only once they had scored and the emirates is the worst of the lot, so its the same at all of the top 4. If it wasnt for away days id stop going all together.

What's more worrying is I put a similar post on Liverpool's website and got flamed. Lads coming at me saying things like "Where on the terms and conditions of the ticket sale does it state that you must sing and shout?", and a very popular one "The players are paid so much they should be able to beat Stoke with no noise from the fans at all".
Surely support is about more than spending money in the club shop?

The police treat supporters like st unless your wearing a replica shirt, police dogs, airport style scanners at train stations, section 60's etc makes it all more hassle by the week.
Getting tickets for away games at united is nigh on impossible, meaning tout prices only to see a girl doing her make up while supposed to be watching the game, im sure you at liverpool have the same problem.
Rant over

Worst I've seen was a kids party in an exec box for the champs lge quarter final with Arsenal last year. About five mums eating pudding while ten 7-8 year olds played hide and seek. Desperate.I think we should play Babel and Riera out wide with Gerrard in the middle. This way we can get a constant supply to Torres. Kuyt an Benayoun are useless wingers, why does Rafa persist in playing a West Ham reject and someone who has no pace or the ability to cross the ball on the wings?

The reason no-one understands Rafa's strategies is that he is on a different plane of footballing genius to the rest of us. Every nuance of our performances are intended, our results are part of a grand plan which will see Liverpool FC become the champions of the world. We'll be so good that FIFA will re-write the rule book, and make history allowing Liverpool to play in the World Cup Finals. We'll beat Brazil in the final, and the trophy will be held aloft by our spiritual leader, the quadruple world footballer of the year, Dirk Kuyt.Every single football fan in the world who's watched Liverpool scratching their heads in disbelief will bow down and slowly chant "Rafa, Rafa, Rafa, Rafa", and the world will be in peace. You my son will regret the day you ever uttered the words "What the fvck is this utter pr1ck playing at?"
Or summats like that.

Rubbish. Football died when the big money came into it ie years before 96. Players played for cash not the club.

Because West Ham know what they are doing in other words see Macha. Jossi is one of the best underrated players in the current Liverpool side. He just needs games on a regular basis to extract the best from him - something Rafa does not offer. Good to see Agger back playing and on the scoresheet. I would like to see more of him playing alongside Skrtie. Carra is good (in an old fashioned C.Defender kind of way) but ageing a touch.
