It means grasping at straws, that's what it means.

Because 3 blokes from the FA decided he had broken some rule or other.

That is not the same as a conviction in a court of law, there have been no charges laid.

I still believe that if this case had gone down the same route as John Terry's Suarez would have been acquitted.

That said, nothing will change what has gone before, all parties need to move forward.
Agreed, and the clubs, at least, appear to want to do this- LFC/Suarez have issued an apology, MUFC have issued a statement thanking them for the apology, and that really should be it.
But, by all parties, one needs to also include the myriad "talking heads"/media who have been in a feeding frenzy over this since the start. They have to now shut up and stop the gutter, sensationalist bks they've been spouting to give this a chance to now fade away.
I mean, Gordon Taylor was apparently "sickened" when the handshake didn't happen... I mean, "sick to the pit of my stomach..." Really Gordon?... And Ferguson calling for the player to never represent his club again, labelling him a "disgrace"? Over a handshake?
If Tayler's constitution is so weak as to be sickened over a lack of handshake, the poor chap must have been needing the smelling salts after Evra's lunge toward Suarez missed and upended his own team-mate to land on his neck... But no mention of that, was there?
The media have lost all perspective over this, and LFC have hardly helped their cause, but let's not forget how it all started... Two blokes, winding each other up for a competitive edge, both using pretty derogative language, both (imo) going too far (sexual references to a man's sister, and the other, one, possibly more than one, use of a word many find offensive).
Suarez has served his ban, the media need to now let it lie. Enough is enough.
The clubs evidently want to move on, be nice if they're allowed to.
And if Suarez wants to salvage a career in England, he needs to keep his head below the parapet and get well into double figures for goals for the season, which as a Liverpool fan I sincerely hope he does.

I'm not asking for any change to what has happened, as you will see from my earlier post, but if the FA wants all parties to take them seriously, they need to be absolutely sure that they are acting totally fairly.

Appointing someone with close ties to the manager of the club on one side of a dispute is not acting that way, in my opinion.

I still think, and always wild do, that the FA has handled this very badly. LFC have not been blameless and nor has Suarez, but the FA have missed a great opportunity to show that they can actually handle this kind of thing in a totally fair and reasonable fashion.

Why do you think having a connection with Fergie would matter, to you? Do you think Fergie would have a word in his ear and say;

"Hey, ya wee baster... Do us a favour, and find him guilty, 'cos we aren't due to play them soon, it would not affect our players, and our league position would not be affected by any judgement on their part"?

Seriously? You then think that this ridiculous conspiracy, (yes that is what it is if you think Fergie had any sway over the issue), managed to convince the rest of the panel?

Straws... Lots of them.

K, I hadn't looked that far into it. Surely someone should have brought up Denis Smith's close ties with Man Ure and that Taggart c@nt, though? Not independent at all, I don't think.
Man Ure...really? How old are you? Any valid argument you may have is utterly undermined when you keep posting pathetic insults that my toddler could better.

As with any self respecting Manc I despise LFC (see, not too hard), but if I want to have a go about them, using a juvenile insult would just lower me to their level

How many times does it need to be pointed out....Suarez doesn't have a sister...

Try to be civil, as it doesn't put you in a good light how you are going about things.

What, exactly, is uncivil about that? (and why should I care?) You'll be picking him up on his benefits slur, I hope.

This should be the end for both KKK and suarez, they've both behaved appalingly. Liverpool football club should be bigger than both of them.

Personally I think that's a bit harsh on Dalglish, I think he's been hung out to dry by LFC and even more so by Suarez....besides he's doing a great job keeping them in 6th-8th whilst hoovering up lots of great English talent for bargain fees....as for Suarez, I hope he stays there for years and years so he can completely destroy the LFC 'brand'!

all roads lead to Kenny on this and it has to make you question his character.

Does he think that abusively calling a black man a negro is not worthy of censure? Because if he does that pretty much makes him an unreconstructed racist.

Does he think that it is wrong but that cultural differences mean Suarez should not have been punished so heavily? In which case he has shown the most flawed judgment by not apologising immediately, and also by never acknowledging that fact he is tacitly condoning racism.

Either way, this will be a stain on his character for the rest of time and should be up there with his achievements as to how he is remembered by football. Dark dark man.

It's a shame that this thread has descended into a slanging match, it highlights just how immune to facts, logic and reason supporters often are. Unfortunately LFC continue to embarrass themselves over and over again with their recycled platitudes - churning out quotes they've picked up from any of their number who are capable of stringing a coherent sentence together.

To be fair, the more aware are now starting to feel embarrassed at the past four months' events, now realising that actually Suarez is not quite the solid, salt-of-the-earth-sound-as-pound-lad they were being told he was, and that Dalglish's actions have been borne out of desperation. The one-eyed are still spitting venom with ever more rabid fervour, and those in between are so confused they don't know who to blame anymore.
