They're sucking you in again Mart, I can sense a summer of huge expectation and then...
hehe

How right you are, Mick.

How does this thing work then? When do the Euro qualifiers start and how do you get around one of the last four teams getting an automatic road through to the Euro Finals? Will they not be placed in a qualifying group, because if so, the qualifying groups will have to start quite late in the year, surely?

Good game in the end, and a great result.

Remember when everyone laughed at Liverpool for hiring a 'throw in coach'? smile

Some Euro qualifying groups will be six teams, with the top 2 going through. England will be in a Group of five. Which ( I think has the top side going through and the second going to play offs. All four teams going to the Nations Cup Finals are guaranteed a spot in the play offs.

AFAIK

This nations league thing has been a great idea, especially for the likes of Gibraltar, Lichtenstein, San Marino and Scotland.

I haven't been bothered enough to understand it - if we win what do we get? A shiny cup is it all about seeding?

Both i believe, 5 days in June to look forward to at the end on the current season & giving the elite English players plenty of close season rest time after too.

We could win this & it would be a good boost for the players & the nations football fans too.

5 June: Semi-final 1
6 June: Semi-final 2
9 June: Third-place play-off
9 June: Final

The draw is in Dublin in a fortnight.

We also get a favourable group going into the Euro qualifiers & a guaranteed play off place if required . This is what i heard on the radio yesterday.

What's not to like ?

It's all good tournament experience, plus knowing we can tear apart teams like Spain and Croatia is good for confidence building.

Not sure that's the line up UEFA had in mind when they dreamt it up but what the hell, bring it on !

on the face of it I agree nothing, nice little tournament in summer between Euro and WC years.

So we still have Euro qualifiers - are they shorter such that UEFA nations league plus qualifiers = same amount of games as previous Euro qualifiers?

And after all this Nations league stuff with promotions/relegations - all that does it decide the seeding for the Euro qualifiers (aside from the top 4 who play finals in June)

Ok, so now all the club games are done and dusted we can look forward to England winning their first international trophy in over 50 odd years.

Question is, does he start with Kane on Thursday or not?

Apparently none of the glorious Spurs & the jammy Liverpool team are playing tonight because of last Saturday’s robbery in Madrid .

Supposed to be an important game I thought .

Really what is the bloody point of playing this game in early June ?

I’m only joking about Madrid before the usual suspects start getting all salty again .

Given the form of Kane Alli, Dier and Trippier that probably improves England. They might miss Trent and Hendo more, hope Gomez plays.

I am also somewhat joking before you get salty smile

Oh here’s the expected line up

England (4-2-1-3): Pickford; Walker, Stones, Maguire, Chilwell; Rice, Barkley; Lingard; Sancho, Sterling, Rashford.

Dutch players are fitter it seems as VVD and Gini are starting for them
