Very disappointed with yesterday but Swansea held on and took their chance. You can't win if you don't find the net!
Yes, a bold game-plan and a bit of luck and we somehow came away with the 3 points! All would have been different if JWP had put that chance away in the first 10 minutes - great reaction save by our keeper.A striker with better movement than Pelle would have put us to bed yesterday.
45 points after 24 games... I think I am dreaming at times, but we've played well enough to deserve the points. Our threat in front of goal seems to be less but that is because teams are working out how to defend against us.
I still cannot quite believe we are 3rd at the minute and have won away from home so many times. I see on some other forums that other fans are seeing us as a fly which will not go away... long may it continue

It's great reading the other footie forums on here and seeing the expectation of victories and trophies. I hope that one day the Saints are in that same position, but I am really enjoying our time near the top and the neutrals rooting for us. Will it last? I don't know, but last minute victories like Saturday's will go a long way to making us challengers for a European place. The next 2 home games are crucial as it could mean we are on the same points as Liverpool or potentially as many as 12 ahead if they were to lose both
I think, being realistic, we aren't going to stay there for long. We're still too small, and we'll get picked apart over the summer again. RK will be hunted down (it's only a matter of time before he's off to Barca or Dutch national team) and the likes of Morgan, Vic and Clyne will be sought after.
There's a chance the whole process will repeat again, but if it did I think the odds of 'surviving' like we have for a second time would be very small. Truth is, RK has inherited some really good players who were overshadowed by the egos last time around. He's done a fine job of not only bringing in more and getting them to integrate quickly, but getting even more out of the existing players. He's picked up where MP left off, and he's doing an even better job at it.
I'd love it to continue, but being realistic, this season's been a bit of a funny one so far.

We might not stay there, but it's made the Premier League more interesting and if we did happen to get European football, that might mean that 1-2 of those who are planning to go might wait around another season.
Yeah, that's the flipside. More to stay for compared with last season, and with some of the signings we've made, plus Bertrand committing actually during the campaign, it speaks volumes about how we're progressing.I'd love to be wrong of course, but it's standard procedure for a Saints fan to be downtrodden and pessimistic
I think we may get close to the magic 70pts for Champions League. We are on track for 71pts with current pts per game ratio - 25pts from 14 games seems possible.
I think we will finish 6th. Chelsea & City top two, think Arsenal, Tottenham and United will have enough to beat us, although maybe Spurs will get distracted with Europa League. Think we have a good chance of beating Liverpool which would be fantastic.
So my prediction is 68pts and 6th. What is yours?

I keep expecting us to drop down the league but we keep on picking up results.
We are currently 2nd in the current form table with 13 points from our last 6 games. That is impressive. I am sure the "big" boys are royally p!ssed off with us but tough. It is nice to have somebody else vying for a top 4 spot.
Regarding player sales in the summer I think MS will go and to be honest I am not that bothered. He seems to have lost the ability to tackle and is forever getting himself booked. He has never been a game changer and for that reason I see no reason why he cannot be replaced. Add to that , he wants away !

Big game tonight, 3 points would make a great statement for our finishing position and it will be a tough game. I don't know why, but Carroll always seems to play well against us as does Nolan. I know their own fans are not fans of Nolan, but he always seems to create something.
We need to be more clinical in our finishing to have hopes of finishing in the top 4-6 places. Heres hoping that Pelle gets his under the bar boots on as he's hit it 6 times this season.
Do I want Morgan to stay? honestly I do as I think we are a better team with him in, and if we did manage to sneak a champions league place, then I still don't think he will stay, but you never know. Big Vic has also been great for us and I'm hoping that Reed will continue to progress and become a regular. Left back will be interesting tonight, hope Matty is on his way to recovery

I expect Yoshida will start on the left with Gardos and Jose in the middle. Hopefully Maya can continue his surge in form.
Not too confident though, I think West Ham are an easy team to slip up against for a club like us who try to keep the ball on the floor. Fingers crossed though, as the top 6 is getting pretty tight now so 3 points would really keep things simmering nicely.
