Just watched Ambulance on BBC1, its set in Liverpool this time round. The closing scenes were played with Marcus Mumford of Mumford and sons singing you'll never walk alone. It was quite a poignant version and nice to listen to.

From about 17 minutes in, Klopp puts the journo on the spot for asking whether he should have signed a direct replacement for Gini by reeling off the 3 different midfields he used in pre season and the 9 players he has - and asking what the journo thinks is missing.
Also makes the serious point that spending wise, they cannot compete with the likes of Chelsea and Citeh, but he thinks LFC fans do actually appreciate that and the squad they assemble on a more limited budget:

As much as the results, what has pleased me over the last 2 or 3 seasons is the way the squad behave together on the pitch. Apart from the odd spat between Mo and Sadio, they all seem to enjoy playing together - more than other teams, it appears. I guess that part of the recruitment of a new player would include asking how his personality would fit into the squad - there's no point signing the 'best' or most expensive midfielder if he wouldn't fit in (Paul Pogba, I'm looking at you...).
Look at Arsenal.
They've got some great players but don't seem to play as a team, many seem happy just to pocket a £100k a week.
I think that's where the skill of the manager comes in to get everyone rowing together.
It's only really Chelsea and City that distort things as they can have £50m players as cover for the £50m player on the pitch

I think this is a hugely important area that Klopp and co. focus on - but which is totally missed by so many of the complaining "wah wah, FSG out, they're not spending what City do" brigade (not on here, just elswhere on social media). A player's character is, I am sure, looked into just as much as their skills. How they would fit in with what we have. I imagine its only coincidence but there are a surprising number of players in the team who have religious faith. Certainly not all religious people are "good" people but bringing together a successful squad from most ethnicities and backgrounds requires a blend of people who are fundamentally decent human beings. As much as the results, what has pleased me over the last 2 or 3 seasons is the way the squad behave together on the pitch. Maybe sometimes those players don't hit the ground running when they come in - but we need to remember the last 18 months have just been bloody weird. Ultimately players coming from abroad are only human too.
Only Allison and Jota in that starting 11 played in tournaments over the Summer. Probably sensible move given the opposition and length of the season (no disrespect to Norwich but they're not a Chelsea, after all).
Actually - not sure Allison started in any of the games for Brazil this summer.
