You're deluded if you don't think that squad needs a few additions.
Yet we still qualified for CL football with our poor squad, I'm with you on Mason he should have scored to make it 1-3.
It's not a poor squad at all, but below the first team it isn't that strong. Who do you have to replace Kane up top? What if you get a couple of injuries in the midfield? I'm not saying huge additions, just a striker (or two) and a couple of midfielders.

Oh and a new right back. Walker is not up to the job.

I keep hearing things like this but can you name me any team in the league that isn't the same way?

Teams that have spent far far more than Spurs don't have any depth either so is it realistic to expect superstars to be sitting on a bench?

We get better and better:

Tottenham Hotspur are the first team in Premier League history to have 9 players booked in 1 game.

Top marks.

It's not a weak squad in comparison to the rest of the league - otherwise we wouldn't be 2nd after 36 games. There is definitely room for improvement though. Walker needs a brain transplant although I'd be quite happy for Trippier to start instead. We'd be in trouble if Kane was injured but then you could say that about any team that lost it's best goalscorer.

So yes, another striker (but we aren't going to play 2 up top so will be interesting to see who we can get to play from the bench - either someone young or someone old. Can't see us getting a peak "star"). Another attacking midfielder as I don't think that Chadli of N'Jie will ever be good enough. We have 2 keepers, 4 FBs, 3CBs (plus Carter-Vickers who will be a star by all accounts), plenty of midfielders (although I can see Bentaleb & Mason going plus Carroll is out of contract). They may have already identified youth players to bring through next season. So no major surgery, just some tweaking and maybe a touch of extra quality.

Finding players who are better than our starting 11 or those that are prepared to compete for a start, rather than expecting to walk into the team will be tough though. It's a good position to be in though. I think that we could really do with a couple of older, more experienced heads in the squad, even if they won't be regular starters. Someone needs to take charge in situations like last night, and calm everyone the fk down. Lloris isn't going to do that in goal. A couple of signings similar to when we got Davids & VdV would be good.

I certainly don't expect us to spend £30m+ and stupid wages on the latest flavour of the month. I expected us to be in a position to mount a top 4 challenge next season, as I expect the management did too. So we're ahead of schedule and I'm certain Poch, Mitchell et al have at least a 3 year plan with regards to signing players. We have potentially got a core spine of very good, young, hungry players who should only get better. If we can keep them all together for then 5 years then it should yield success. All the best teams: Arsenal, United, Chelsea of the Prem era have had that consistancy of players. Cech , Terry, Lampard & Drogba for example. In the past, we haven't been able to hold onto our best players long enough to build that sort of squad cohesion. I have a feeling that things may be different this time around.

Cue Levy's finger hovering over the Real Madrid speed-dial button.....hehe

Some of the comments on here since last night are fecking hilarious. It appears that there are lots of bitter Chelsea and Liverpool fans in the world, though god knows why they feel the need to stop by here and share.

Leicester deserve the title. This season has been the best that I've ever seen a Spurs team play. Sadly, it wasn't quite enough but there's always next year. smile

Credit to Chelsea last night, they actually remembered what it's like to play football rather than sulk. And bless, the look on their faces when they equalised. You'd think they'd won the league they were so excited, not lost it to Leicester which is what they actually did.

Yes it's quite unbelievable that the strength of Spurs bench is being mentioned at all when you look at the net spend table. Who is on United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenals bench for the money they've spent per season? Anyone that's any better than Spurs have got?

You have to remember it was their cup final, their struggling to finish higher than Stoke for fk sake.

And a couple could have arguably been sent off - certainly Dier for a second bookable offence during injury time. Ref let play go on and then someone fouled Willian and was booked instead.

As you well know, form book goes out the window for a derby. Especially when Chelsea could upset their London neighbours in such a delicious manner.

As has been said before Leicester was going to win it at the weekend so I wasn't that surprised at the result.

It will be interesting to see if Chelsea resort back to their form of current weeks, how annoyed would you be if you were a Chelsea fan?

It's automatic for the FA to hit any club with a disrepute charge if they get 7 bookings in a game, for failing to control their players. I think there may be some serious ramifications with 9.

I think we'll be looked at too. Not sure how Costa ended up not getting booked, he ran his heart out to be in the middle of every skirmish going.

I wonder how many players we'll have available for Sunday?

7, unless MoPo gets banned from the sideline too.

I do hope that whatever the inevitable penalties are, they don't stop us finishing 2nd.

We need 3 points from the remaining to 2 to guarantee 2nd. Or the Goons to lose one of their remaining 2.

City can't really afford to drop any points against Arsenal on Sunday, with United having a game in hand. So hopefully it will all be resolved by 6pm on Sunday or even 3.30pm.

But if we hadn't have sold Bale & Modric, they'd still be playing for us. And then we wouldn't have bought Paulinho or Soldado.

Yes it is still great. Take out the Bale £85m and it is still only a net spend of about £6m per year. That puts Tottenham at position 18 of 20. Can we take out the Suarez money? And whatever PSG paid United for that Argentine winger who was so invisible I can't remember his name.

And you might have had the necessary strength and depth you needed to win the league... !!

If only you'd had amazing scouts and signed Shane Long and Ighalo instead?
