I think that’s the final nail, as if any more were needed. Enjoy your season in the sun. We go again next year.

Bad day at the office. Suspect Martial will have nightmares tonight. No complaints though we weren't good enough but in the grand scheme of things means nowt. Newcastle defended really well and deserved their win. The real battle I guess is for 2nd place and the Champions League. On that form though we've no chance. We've got to be so much better in the final third.

We need to drop donkey and play pogba further forward, Sanchez up front, and build around that.

You'll probably have already have won the league by the time you play United.

I don't know where to start. My sons team lost 4-3 today after going 3-1 up and I've still got that spinning through my head at the minute.

I think both (my) teams need to work harder, especially in the first half in Man Utds case. It took 30 minutes to create even a chance and that's with the majority of possession. That's simply not good enough.

I don’t want to say I told you so but, well, I thought this is exactly how it would pan out.

Spuds will get 2nd as their next games are all winnable whilst we have our tough matches still to come. We may be 2nd in the table but we are not the 2nd best team in the premier league. I just hope there isn’t time left for that to be reflected in the table.
What a load of tosh. This was a "winnable" game. Told you so might apply if we go on and lose the games against the top 4. You didn't predict this, so there's no told you so about it.
I’ll come back to you after the Chelsea and Liverpool games. The I told you so was about the Spuds getting 7 points from their 3 difficult games and that them drawling with Liverpool was the worst result for us. If we cant beat Newcastle how do you think we’ll fare against Liverpool?

Pogba should never have played today. He was clearly not at the races from the word go and was a hinderence to the team in midfield. Squandered chances cost us in a game we should have put away before they scored. Shaw should have played today too, he’s been impressive and offers so much more up the left than young!

Using that logic, we should be in the bottom 3.

Why was them drawing the worst result? What would have been better?

One of them winning. As it was both left the field with their pride, confidence and undefeated runs intact. If City have won the league we are in a 4 way figt for an ECL place. As Spurs were the furthest behind its logical that them losing would have suited us most. Now they are on a roll as are Liverpool.

I’ll be astonished if we cling onto 2nd or even 3rd now. I can easily see us drawing with Chelsea and losing to Liverpool whilst Spurs beat both Huddersfield and Crystal palace.

If I knew the answer to that I’d be on £350k a week.

Painful game to watch today. How did we not score??

Pogba should have come off far sooner.

Well Jose doesn't seem to know the answer and he's on nearly £300k a week!

I just think he has too many average players in the team / squad right now. How many of United's players would get in a "Team of the Season" right now... de Gea probably but nobody else. And that's unusual for the team that is currently sitting second in the table.

Can't see United winning the title with the likes of Jones, Smalling and Young in the starting XI.

We must have fluked those 17 wins judging some of the comments how bad utd are...

Have a bit of faith, and the right formation and confidence will come. Lukaku has been off form for ages with lack of supply, maybe it's time for a breather for him. It's not right yet as a team but they aren't flowing fully. Realistically today they were unlucky not to score 2 or 3 despite not being at their best.

With the money spent there really is no excuse for having an 'average squad'.
