Criminal form continues. It’s getting pretty boring now.

I’m still not sure whether the players are as bad as they seem or aren’t being coached properly. Either way, we are heading for a very bad end to the season unless something drastic changes for the better.

What's the answer? Surely Jose should have you guys playing better by now?
Dropping donkey and playing pogba further up the pitch. And don't get me started on that "defence". The 3 most inept CBs around (Linda, Jones and Mike).

Best defence in premiership is in some way due to him yes. But we've pulled out some great wins at times. We have also relied on DDG brilliance too much at times.

Is that not the same with most clubs? Tottenham have Kane, we have Salah etc?

He should have had at least two assists today. Martial x2 and Sanchez missed golden opportunities, they were the culprits.

Not necessarily. Optimism for the future is different to blind faith.

Getting booked for diving in your own half as a centre back is unforgivable. Should be benched for the season for that.

Our year? Hopefully we can find some cohesion as a team in the next 3 months and then it’s a possibility.
Their year? I don’t know who THEY are. If City, then maybe they will continue their form from this season but maybe not. Hopefully some of them would find a little grace in victory too.
If Chelsea, then their new manager should win something because that’s their cycle.

Bench is still too close to the team. Unless its a bench at the training ground, then its ok. Provided its someone else's training ground.

It's been said earlier, but Smalling and Jones just are too prone to the occasional brain fart to be reliable enough, especially as a partnership. The sad thing is that this has been known for years, and yet still here we are. The Bailly injury is partly to blame, but Lindelof clearly hasn't been the answer and Rojo is much of the same. Expecting something to happen here in the summer, really.

Really though for me its the front 6 players where the problem is at the moment. There's no doubt the talent is there, but we just don't seem to be using it remotely properly at the moment - which has to come down to the coaching and management.

Dull match really yesterday. Jose talked of the way Newcastle fought but they were gifted a goal and despite all the skill and talent we have we looked, again, to have very little ability to score. We’re not the only team to suffer this of course but something isn’t working. Pogba did us no favours dragging himself around the pitch even if I am sure he wanted to stay on. I don’t think there were any stand out poor performances, it was a lack of teamwork and effort, simple as.

Look like a team going through the motions ,I think they expected to challenge for the title and have been crushed by city’s form.2nd place is best loser and the players know this .
There is no intensity , no desire and some of them seem to be going through the motions ,and some them are just not good enough .

Whilst your CBs are a major reason why you conceded yesterday, they aren't the reason you lost the match. Same as the game against Spurs.

You've got a right winger at right full-back, another right-winfer at left full-back - surely play Shaw or sell him - not sure what more he can do to get on the pitch.

Then you have Dumb & Dumber in the middle at the back - Bailly has been a miss for you but then so has Kompany for City - but Pep has strengthened (and got mistake-ridden players like Otamendi to vastly improve - Stones is getting there - and liabilities like Mangala shipped out elsewhere) ...

Not sure what the problem is with Pogba, I think all agree he is FAR from the finished article but will he ever get there? De Bruyne bosses the middle of the pitch for City week in, week out. Pogba just melts away - maybe he's not being played in his best position, but if he is THAT good, he should be capable of playing well, anywhere on the pitch - a Milner but with more talent if you like - but he looks weak mentally and dragging him off twice won't have helped, but then he hasn't helped himself.

Up front the talent is there but the coaching is awful, and Martial now plays on the right, when surely Sanchez should be there?

I thought Lukaku actually played well yesterday, nice defence-splitting ball to Sanchez who should have scored really ... and his hold up play was a lot better. But they look poorly coached upfront generally, something Maureen isn't noted for - attacking coaching.

The point about Shaw is he has no end product.Name one goal ,one assist or one clear cut chance he has created in his entire united career ?
Pogba is not a finished article but he’s 24 I’m not clear on which 24 year olds boss the midfield anywhere .
He’s one of the handful of players in the league I’d pay to watch play ,a couple of poor games does not make him a bad player and we look significantly worse when he doesn’t play .I agree with the concensus he is not at his best when playing in a 2 .
I agree about the attacking play ,as per the hazard interview a few weeks ago where he said Jose doesn’t coach them ,he prefers to let them use their creativity.

In the meantime though united are still second and still in 2 other cups so I’m not going to cry about it.
Initial disappointment at the result is normal but every time one of the top teams loses a game they shouldn’t ,the media go into a doom frenzy.
There are issues but every team has those, the difference is the expectation level, but united have no divine right to be the best.Maureen is rebuilding what was a poor squad imo.
