You misrepresented my summary of today's one incident for DDG. I don't really care about your opinion as a non utd fan. End of story.
Then think about it. The keeper is there for the occasional cock up. He saved you a lot today, as did a lot of poor City finishing. You are a poor shadow of a once great side.

There's only one problem at United right now & I reckon every non United fan that follows football knows exactly what it is .

No point beating yourselves up about today, City are just irresistible right now.
Id disagree about one problem. There are a couple. Jose isn't the sole reason. I still like him for being honest about the failings. He's just not gone about it well and yes he's part of it too.
It's fixable, in time. I'm not worried about that.

Agree with city comments. Playing sublime football at times and a strong squad now. Still question marks about their bottle in Europe though but maybe they'll take the step up to the big league by winning it soon.

I think some fans of yours are being quite negative when it’s not really needed.

City’s attack is probably the best in the world.
The players who play infront of Fernandinho are unbelievable. Highly technical payers.
They have 5 attacking players and two wingbacks who are quite attacking at times. If you don’t go at them full on then expect them to punish you. Obviously your defence has to be capable of withstanding their counters, team has to act like a unit.

Like the wins you picked up before this you will win again in the coming weeks. Just hopefully not I’m 5 weeks time wink

I think in the future a Shaw, Bailly, Lindelof, Young/Valencia/new RB will do you well.
It’s your attacking players that don’t seem to convince me.
Matic/Herrera/Pogba is a good midfield but it seems like there is no nailed on starters up top.

Lukaku can score. Martial can. They would be my two starters but I don’t think Rashford, Sanchez or Linguard fit in with them two in a 4231.
No, no, no, no, no.

Anyone who thinks donkey is good enough is on crack. And most of the others you’ve mentioned are also not good enough.

Lukaku deserves to stay on the bench, been dreadful this season. Much prefer Linford, Martial, Sanchez or Rashford up front. More movement and people that want to run beyond defenders.

Big issue is the midfield for me. We can't seem to get the balance of attack and defence,. We can't support the attack, provide cover for the defenders, or keep the ball for a period of time.

I swear Matic is getting slower and slower.

We're not great right now but we've been doing ok but today just showed the gulf/chasm between us and the best team in Europe and possibly the world right now. It was tough to watch but we didn't get thrashed even if we were totally outclassed, totally. frown

I think the problem is that he doesn’t trust the defence, so the midfielders end up defending and the gap between attack and defence is huge, often leaving the strikers isolated.

Fair summaries on MOTD just now. The 44 pass prelude to the 3rd goal was something special but they also just showed the lack of Utd player "bite" or effort at tackling back at 2-1down and real lack of closing down city. Shearer I think said it's as though they'd resigned to 2-1 and didn't want to concede a 3rd. It's nothing new to us this year, for whatever reason (players/tactics/manager) we are not covering ground or making tackles like City did. Fairly and soundly beaten by a much better team unfortunately and we have to get going again and work towards improvements however that may be.
I don't believe anyone else is anywhere near the level of city currently or longer term this season. Liverpool are poss the only near challengers perhaps. Everyone else is playing catch up.

You can't expect a result against Man City, but to not have a shot on target all game (other than the penalty) is appalling.

I agree with that. We do look utterly lost in the final third - no movement and no plan for how to score a goal.

A midfield of Matic, Herrera and Fellaini was always going to be ste and slow. God knows whats gone on with Matic but he's a liability this season and only EVER plays the ball back to the defenders, so negative. No creativity in midfield or any desire to push forward. Pathetic really.

A lot of this rests on Ed's shoulders too for not backing Jose with the players he clearly needed in summer.

st all round really but we move on to the next game.

Agreed. Two week break almost to regroup and for pogba /lukaku to get fit. Maybe time for McTominay to be given a run with Pogba then and let Matic have a breather too.

Currently I'm thinking Sanchez hasn't worked at all so should see the season out and be replaced with a premium attacker as an option, Fred needs time to settle and adapt. Matic is on his last season or two at most. I'd like to see the new right back brought through (fit? ) and Valencia/ young as back up.
Lindo and Smalling were unpicked by city but had shown signs prior games of being a fair pairing. Martial is showing form at last. Rash is being Rash and not taking his chances.

Sanchez imo has looked good when sided by Rashford and Martial, far more mobile than when Lukaku plays.

I'd much rather see Pereira play than McTominay too smile

I didn’t think that was as bad as I feared when I saw the team sheet,Matic and Fellaini was alwAys going to result in their midfield getting beyond ours and so it proved .
I have to say Matic is finished ,Jose loves him though so we will have to endure more of his immobility .

Bit disappointed with DDG today for the Aguero goal, seemed to just fold up. Not one of his best days altho his defence don't help him at present.
fk me, I think he's allowed ONE off day isn't he?! How many games has he kept you in? So many draws and scrappy games you could've easily lost if it weren't for him.

City were miles better, no fault of DDG that you lost.

Crikey some people are so hard of understanding. Please read me back where I blamed DDG for the loss? He wasnt the reason for the loss , Nor did I say so.
So chill oot. Aguero hit the ball hard but straight at him, and I'm disappointed as I said he didn't stop it. It was one of 3 goals however not of his fault or making. DDG is worth 10-15 points at least most seasons he's one of the world's best thanks.

None of this excuses the fact that nobody, but nobody thought to cover David Silva off for their first goal. That's defending that I would expect to see at grassroots level. There were 2 right near to him, Herrera and Fellaini. It's as though what he does, his movement, is sort of unexpected?

I'll admit to feeling depressed after the game last night. Poor kids couldn't get anything out of me. I honestly thought that we could contain them. Today's a new day though. The league has gone, top 4 target it is. I'd like to see some of the fringe players being given a run now.

I've been told it's not. It's a thread ABOUT Man Utd for everyone to have their say, Scouser, Manc, Cockney et all.

There are dedicated forums for fans elsewhere.
