A great result for Rangers last night and now only need a win against Aris to qualify. The performance in the first half was fantastic and we really should have been 4 goals up by half time. We slacked off a little in the second half and after missing some good chances made it difficult for ourselves. A deserved win though.

I hadn't realised Sparta's away record was so poor. They have only won once away from home in Europe in their last 21 matches. Pretty embarrassing for that side...

It’s a good job Sparta didn’t qualify for the Champions League then, otherwise they might have ended up the with the ignominy of being the worst team in its entire history! hehe

They’d have to go some to overcome Rangers title of worst group stage campaign, but overall worst record of any team in CL history, well there’s no doubt who holds that one rofl

Hmmm not many still alive today who watched the old European cup on their black and white tellys.

The good old days when they used a medicine ball, pit boots, training diet was pie n chips, six pints and half time was a fag and a dram!!

When did the CL start? 1990 something wasn’t it?

I knew that would be your comeback.

The official list of winners is here, scroll down… https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/history/w...

And did you know that Celtic became the first club to win the trophy ( “Coupe des Clubs Champions Européens“) of the current design?

What is the point of VAR if they won't overturn a Rangers penalty for a very obvious act of diving?

Presumably because it wasn’t a clear and obvious error?

It's the clearest dive you will ever see.

To give that as a penalty is inexcusable.

It was certainly a clear and obvious dive.

Another penalty.

Sima jumped into Devlin's arm and pushed his arm towards the ball.

VAR flagged that up as a clear and obvious error after ignoring the dive.

Good performance again, horrible pitch and the players who got a start today stepped up. Can’t ask for anymore than 3 points so happy at that.

Mcauslands penalty was a dive, got lucky with that one but he done well to chase it and convince the ref.

Absolutely nothing wrong with mcauslands goal either, but if jostling in the box and the guys already on the way down, really soft to rule that out.

The other penalty was in no doubt a penalty, guy jumps up with his arm raised in an unnatural position. thumbup

What a player we have on our hands with mcausland, he got a chance today and was excellent. Hopefully him, rice and lowry manage to breakthrough with clement and we have a core of good, rangers supporting players on our hands.

6 penalties in the last 4 domestic games for The Rangers.

Very blatant cheating both by the young player and the officials today. The refs must be making a mint in the bookies on Tav(pen) to score anytime.

Another year another vile embarrassment from Celtic fans.
Can’t even blame it on the ultras this year.

Hard to consider as plenty of Celtic players served during the world wars with 1 iirc winning a vc.

Plenty of Irish served too.

Backwards knuckle dragging morons.
