Rangers Football Club are the most successful club in world football history, having won over 100 trophies including 33 Scottish Cups and seven 'trebles.' But that isn't enough. By rights it should be 34 Scottish Cups and 8 trebles. Because in the 1989 Scottish Cup final, shortly before half-time, a player from Glasgow Celtic, the city's newest club, knocked the ball out of play around about the half-way line. It should have been a throw-in to Rangers. Instead Celtic skipper Roy Aitken took the throw-in for his own team, approximately 20 yards further up the pitch than where his team-mate had knocked it out. We Rangers supporters are duty-bound to seek an understanding of how the referee came to make this outrageous and biased decision. It isn't good enough to say that the referee just felt a bit sorry for a wee diddy team because the other team were winning all the trophies. This decision clearly affected the outcome of the match, and it had absolutely nothing to do with Gary Stevens inability to pass the ball back to Chris Woods from Aitken's aforementioned throw-in. Nor did the result have anything to do with the team's inability to score in the 45 minutes that followed, although it should be noted that Terry Butcher's equaliser was also disallowed in injury time, but we aren't going to complain about that as well, as we might start to make ourselves into a paranoid laughing stock of a football club.
We Rangers supporters therefore demand the SFA replay the match from the 44th minute, with a throw-in to Rangers, following on from the precedent set in the recent England v Norway under 19s girls match in Belfast. As it isn't possible for the same players to play, a select of current England internationals should take the field for Rangers, with a selection of continental rejects for Celtic (ie. their current team). Jock Brown should be the commentator, and the old Scotsport theme music must be played as the teams line up for the second half.

That's a huge ask. Not only would you have to find all the players, you'd need to bring the club back to life.We Rangers supporters therefore demand the SFA replay the match from the 44th minute, with a throw-in to Rangers, following on from the precedent set in the recent England v Norway under 19s girls match in Belfast. The one I've never grasped was the claims about the most successful club in the world.
Would you want the trophy cabinet of Real Madrid or Rangers? I know what every football supporter would choose.

Great achievement for Glasgow's newest club.
Great achievement for the club with the highest wage bill in Scottish football to finish third in the Championship?Shambler said:
Brink of spending another year in the championship
You do have to wonder if the finances will last another year in the Championship. It will be tight for who comes up. Rangers fans certainly can't be confident given their form and the way QOTS and Hibs have thumped them this season.
As for finishing third, I don't think the odds would have been too great for that. Everyone knew Hibs and Hearts would be right up there, although I don't think anyone predicted how easy Hearts would win it.

You realise that's a good thing? He gets his money back, we get our merchandising rights back, then he fks off. With Dave King about to be officially announced fit and proper aswell, it looks like a Timplosion is imminent
How much money has King put in this time so far? They've already been borrowing money from elsewhere. Where's his millions?
What happened to the transparency that was supposed to be the new thing at Rangers? Everything is still getting leaked through other sources with the transparency level at zero.
What happened when King was about the last time? Didn't the club go to the wall and he was one of the people calling for liquidation?
Where is your confidence coming from? It seems rather unfounded to me given his previous.
It will make a mockery of Scottish football if he is deemed fit and proper. He's a convicted fraudster on many accounts and also fails under his connections to the old club.
He's a crook and just filling the fans head's with the same old nonsense to take you for a ride.
I read earlier there is already plans to organise more league reconstruction to further help Rangers. Could they make it any more obvious if they tried.
It's not even King's money. It's been loaned from one of his companies.
It's still drip feeding the club leaving things really tight and worrying every month.
I read he's pleading with McCoist to give up his payoff, also they have needed to go back and beg Ashley not to call in his money.
You think with all the money Ashley is taking from all the merchandise deals, you think Rangers would want that back.
King keeps boasting about all the investment he'll make, but does anyone believe he will?
