Just seen on an Arsenal forum there is talk of him signing a new contract which if it is the case fans should avoid buying season tickets and attending matches as I feel this is the only way to get rid of him.
If the fans avoid renewing season tickets would that mean that they would go to the back of the list if they wanted to renew them ?The club knows that if they lose a few thousand there will be another few thousand ready to replace them. There are too many people that are in love with their clubs & the big clubs know it.
I would say the only way to really hurt the club would be for everyone whom attends to just not spend a penny inside the ground or in the shop.
Even Pulis knows before the Arsenal fans do.
"Tony Pulis says Arsene Wenger spoke to him after Arsenal's 3-1 defeat at the Hawthorns and said he will sign a new deal"

Won't happen. You only have to look at the waiting list, the plastic fans, and the fact that both divides of the Wenger in/out brigade can send out banners attached to planes. Glassman said:

Boycotting away games could be the only option, but I guess those that stump up the cash to travel to away games are all firmly in the Wenger-In camp anyway?
Given we're looking increasingly unlikely to qualify for CL next season, I'm perplexed that he wants to only stay another 1 year rather than the 2 yrs that's on offer....given that he probably still believes he can win the CL

its the most palatable way to keep your seat! he would want 10 years if offered. he will see how that 1 year goes then go for another contract.i have always maintained we have the thickest fans in the EPL. you have to be to actually pay to watch that nonsense?

They've just mentioned that Arsenal have made an approach for the Dortmund coach on Talksport
That's based on a story in Bild. I remember there was some rumours of meetings with with the RB Leipzig coach a few months ago, but it's difficult to see how these guys who are 'only' coaches could come into Arsenal without a drastic change in the structure to give them the support. The fact that the youth academy is also leaderless speaks volumes for the state of the club at the moment. The board don't want to commit to a decision on anything.

Of course, the fear is they will appoint AW in that role, and bring in another coach thinking that will work!

Really? They've just published a story on their website saying he's going to sign a new contract Quality journalism.aeropilot said:
There was an article on BBC webpages at the weekend about this, with a claim that the board were looking to appoint a Director of Football, for the reason that we were now the only EPL club left without someone in that role, as Wenger was the last of the old style control everything managers. It claimed that a lot of the problems we faced was down to that, and on MotD extra yesterday lunchtime, the pundits were speculating that Wenger not liking to be challenged was a problem, and probably why Viera and Henry are not still at the club in a coaching (or other capacity)
Of course, the fear is they will appoint AW in that role, and bring in another coach thinking that will work!
Didn't Henry leave because Wenger didn't like him doing his football pundit role as well? Although Wenger does the same in France by all accountsOf course, the fear is they will appoint AW in that role, and bring in another coach thinking that will work!

I'm beginning to wonder (I think others are as well) if there were other more fundamental reasons for his departure....AW doesn't like being challenged, and probably especially by former players.
If you lot want to register your displeasure at him staying and hit the club in the only place they care about (the pocket), a match boycott is never going to happen. Fans can't stop following the team, and there are plenty of replacements lined up if you don't go.
But that doesn't mean you're powerless. You can organise a boycott on merchandise (no buying replica shirts and all the other tat), refuse to buy programmes on matchday, don't buy food or drink in the ground, never log onto the club website (they sell advertising based on click numbers), unfollow the club on twitter.
The club has various income streams, so you just have to pick your battles.

Not knowing the full balance sheet - how much revenue do they make from merchandise, match day sustenance etc? I would have thought the potential 100 million loss from not being in the champions league would be a bigger motivator for the board! But that doesn't mean you're powerless. What are you doing at the moment, other than holding up a few banners and winging on Arsenal Fan TV?
