Does anyone ever get the feeling that we're just fighting the inevitable? We're swirling round the drain of absolute mediocrity and our fighting against it is just futile. Even if we manage to get CL this season and Modric and Bale stay, which is I guess, best case scenario. We'll presumably do ok in the league and hopefully ok in CL and probably end up not qualifying again because we don't have the squad depth.

We can't pay the sort of wages to attract or keep top players and we get priced out of the market for the top players anyway. I can't see how without substantial investment, we will ever go back to being a top club. It's much the same for Arsenal.

yes

But this is what supporting Spurs is like, a couple of highs but quite a lot of lows.

There are bigger clubs than us, no use pretending otherwise. If he wants to go, fair enough thanks very much for the time and good luck in the future..
Players come and go, the only one I ever got wound up about was Campbell. In time there will be new players to replace everyone who's currently there at Spurs now...

Think that transfer would wind any Spurs fan up wink For me I cannot see what all the hype about BAE is about. Granted he's a solid left back but I do think Spurs could replace him. Saying he wants to leave for a 'bigger club' is not the attitude you want from a player at the club you support either.

Oh yeah I'm not saying there aren't (there are st loads) bigger than us (none better though wink, it's just I would have expected a man of Bennys calibre to know better than to discuss such matters with the press.

He didn't say he "wanted to leave", he said that he would consider leaving if an offer came in from a bigger club or was paying a lot more money. Which would apply to every other player on the planet with the exception of Ronaldo and Messi.

Total and utter non-story.

What about Heskey? he'd be over priced on a free hehe

Incidentally, a look at Benny's twitter feed reveals dogs abuse a plenty from the lower end of basin.

I have no idea what you are talking about? Are you suggesting that there are bigger clubs paying more money, that would tempt Ronaldo or Messi to leave Real or Barca?

I honestly think Modric will want out CL or not, Bale is going to get offered silly money by some st club with money and as you say, thats without Friedel 41 and gotta be close to retiring, King whos career must be nearing the end, Dawson who has been plagued with injurys for two seasons, Gallas, past it, Nelsen, don't make me laugh, Parker, not getting any younger or better, JD, can't get near a blade of grass, Saha, nearly past it.

Our squad looks like a one last push sort of squad to me. Lots of decent players nearing the end of their playing days but still have a good game in them.

That's a typical Redknapp squad....he's got a habit of signing older players at the end of their careers. Sure they are cheap transfers but I bet they're still getting paid decent wages and it's not building the club for the future.

Well, at least the bin dippers did us a (potential) favour tonight, confirming the Chavs as a mid table side. One less thing to worry about.

Stockport County here.

frown

I hang out in the Spurs thread as they actually have a sense of humour. I guess they kind of need to. wink

Plus as a neutral they are great to watch.

Thanks!

What you guys dont realise due your ovaries being attached to every result is that Spurs are fking great to watch. Everyone on the outside is a flying winger and VDV and Modric when on song remind my of certain Ajax players in the 90's. Friedel makes me feel that I'm not too old to play too which helps. hehe

I'd say that Man City are another great team to watch but the constant "muncheeneh" chants get up my goat and I HATE when a player scores and pushes away his team mates angrily. City players do that too much.

Good luck next game Spurs fans!
