Someone diving from the rear to take another player's legs doesn't happen anywhere near to every game. Not even close.
It was a trip. Perhaps you need to re-watch itThe excuse given by Savage and Hughes was frustration. You can't just go for the legs of another player just because you were frustrated.
Where do you draw the line ?
I draw the line when someone makes a genuine effort to get the ball. When you make no effort to get the ball and put the other player at risk I see that as much worse.

Bale made no effort to win the ball 5 minutes earlier and got a yellow for it.I draw the line when someone makes a genuine effort to get the ball. When you make no effort to get the ball and put the other player at risk I see that as much worse.

How the actual F is that a red
I don't have a problem with a tackle like that being red. He went for the legs and had no intent going for the ball. It's not that often a player goes for the legs like that.
Wales well beaten but that is the poorest referee I have seen in the games so far.
Fully deserved, he'll be feeling rather embarrassed, hopefully.

It was the most cynical trip with the feet I've seen in years.

Agree that it was cynical but not a red card, would have been red if cynical and also a goal scoring opportunity or excessive force used.Fully deserved, he'll be feeling rather embarrassed, hopefully.

Wales were totally outclassed for all bar 15mins. Denmark saw what Page had done, Page couldn't reorganise to combat them doing this.

98/100 times it's a yellow. 1/100 defender gets away with it. 1/100 it gets a red. It's a professional game and that's termed a 'good foul'.
A "good foul" is where you cheat to gain advantage in a dangerous situation. The game was finished and it wasn't a dangerous situation. It was just a frustrated player taking his frustration out on another player. It was needless, unnecessary and dangerous. There is no excuse for doing it.
