Someone diving from the rear to take another player's legs doesn't happen anywhere near to every game. Not even close.
It was a trip. Perhaps you need to re-watch it
He went for the legs. That's how players end up needlessly injured.

The excuse given by Savage and Hughes was frustration. You can't just go for the legs of another player just because you were frustrated.
But... a Wales player had taken down a Danish player by “taking his legs” just outside the box which resulted in a yellow card.
Where do you draw the line ?
I'm not sure what incident you're talking about.

I draw the line when someone makes a genuine effort to get the ball. When you make no effort to get the ball and put the other player at risk I see that as much worse.

Bale made no effort to win the ball 5 minutes earlier and got a yellow for it.

Bale got his yellow card after that incident and it was for dissent.

I did think Italy would dominate this game. It's not happening so far.

How the actual F is that a red
I don't have a problem with a tackle like that being red. He went for the legs and had no intent going for the ball.
Seriously, never a red card, if that was the case every game would have at least one red card.
It would help stop professional fouls if they did get a red.

It's not that often a player goes for the legs like that.
You can’t be serious ........it is not a red.... poor decision..... yet no foul for Wales just before the goal.

Wales well beaten but that is the poorest referee I have seen in the games so far.
It was the most cynical trip with the feet I've seen in years.

Fully deserved, he'll be feeling rather embarrassed, hopefully.

Agree that it was cynical but not a red card, would have been red if cynical and also a goal scoring opportunity or excessive force used.

None of it really matters.

Wales were totally outclassed for all bar 15mins. Denmark saw what Page had done, Page couldn't reorganise to combat them doing this.

98/100 times it's a yellow. 1/100 defender gets away with it. 1/100 it gets a red. It's a professional game and that's termed a 'good foul'.

A "good foul" is where you cheat to gain advantage in a dangerous situation. The game was finished and it wasn't a dangerous situation. It was just a frustrated player taking his frustration out on another player.

It was needless, unnecessary and dangerous. There is no excuse for doing it.

At least the England side can pick up all the home nation support now.

That's how this works right?
Yes from me. I picked Italy at the start, always my second team, but yes, I'd love if football came 'home'

It was a yellow card though. As a wrote immediately I saw it, the referee was showboating.
